Position Title: Specialist, Accounts Payable (SSC)


Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist helps facilitate the timely and accurate payments to business partners of JetBlue Airways.


 Essential Responsibilities:

  • Verify and process invoices for payment
  • Research vendor history through multiple systems to determine current status and amount due
  • Provide excellent customer service to business partners
  • Communicate with business partners and on the status of their account
  • Accurately codes and prepares proper journal entries
  • Maintain open and closed filing system
  • Track assigned accounts/expense categories
  • Analyze business partner statements to ensure accuracy
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Experience & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • One (1) year data entry experience
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to learn new systems and maintain controls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible, multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and work well independently
  • Effective research skills including the ability to analyze information, make determinations, and issue progress reports in accordance with Company guidelines
  • Available for overnight travel (10%)
  • Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship


Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous Accounts Payable experience
  • SAP experience
  • TRAX experience

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
