Position Summary
The Supervisor, Security Compliance & Customer Facilitation supports the Manger Security Compliance & Customer Facilitation in ensuring and enhancing JetBlue’s overall security compliance posture as governed by both U.S. civil aviation security policy makers (including the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP)) as well as foreign host nation civil aviation authorities, where applicable.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supports the Manager of Security Compliance & Customer Facilitation in tracking JetBlue’s conformance and compliance with all governmental security related regulations and directives as may be promulgated and enforced by the TSA, CBP and foreign civil aviation authorities, where applicable
- Supports the JetBlue Corporate Security Team in its interfaces with non-governmental aviation security related entities such as Airlines for America (A4A) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) on all security compliance industry issues
- Assists with the preparation of corporate responses to official correspondence received from regulatory agencies
- Supports development and dissemination of internal guidance to JetBlue stakeholders in matters regarding regulatory security processes and compliance mandates
- Periodic publication of analytical and tracking reports for JetBlue leadership as required
- Supports the Security Champion Program and the spread of Security Awareness throughout JetBlue
- Creates and manages a single company reference point to ensure complete and uniform adherence to requirements as outlined in U.S. Aviation Security Programs and non-U.S. aviation authority regulations
- Monitors the Department of Homeland Security Information Security Network (HSIN) and all Principal Security Specialist (PSS) and International Industry Representative (IIR) communications daily to identify new regulatory requirements
- Coordinates with other departments on all security related compliance issues and projects
- Shared oversight of the Internal Security BlueCity Audit Program
- Ensures JetBlue compliance with IATA/IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) standards
- Ensures adherence to safety and security regulations
- Serves as secondary point of contact for TSA Homeland Secure Data Network (HSDN) equipment
- Assists with management of the screening equipment purchased by JetBlue (includes walk through metal detectors, x-ray screening equipment and explosive trace detection equipment)
- Assists with updates to international security programs for each international BlueCity
- Supervises and supports the Customer Facilitation Team to ensure compliance with domestic and foreign travel regulations and requirements
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- Three (3) years of aviation experience in the public or private sector with demonstrated record of success in meeting business challenges and delivering solutions
- Three (3) years of leadership experience
- Self-starter with ability to and experience in designing and delivering presentations
- Experience managing complex communications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to review, comprehend and interpret civil aviation security rules, regulations and official guidance
- Eligible for and ability to be designated as a holder of a U.S. government issued “security eligibility” or “clearance”
- Available for frequent overnight travel (65%)
- Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Information literacy competency in electronic research and analysis
- Command of and fluency in another language, preferably Spanish
- Project management and or Paralegal qualifications
- Knowledge of airline reservation systems (e.g., Sabre, Timatic, etc.), international documentation processes, and government travel compliance systems
- Fluency in databases such as Access

- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

- Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) and Safety Action Report (SAR))
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
- The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $56,500.00 and $103,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
