Position Summary

The Supervisor Inflight Base Coordinators is responsible for leading and supporting Inflight Base Coordinator team while driving operational dependability, performance, safety, and engagement initiatives within the assigned base. The Supervisor serves as the first line of leadership support for their crewmembers by coaching, mentoring, and ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and service standards while fostering JetBlue’s culture and values.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership, guidance, and support to assigned BCs to ensure operational excellence and adherence to company standards
  • Maintain a visible and approachable leadership presence within the base and during operational interactions
  • Conduct regular coaching conversations focused on performance, dependability, customer experience, and professional development
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with Crewmembers, leadership teams, and support departments
  • Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, inclusivity, and continuous improvement
  • Monitor and address dependability, attendance, and performance concerns in a timely and consistent manner
  • Ensure all Crewmember documentation, coaching records, and progressive guidance actions are completed accurately and within established timelines
  • Maintain knowledge of FAA regulations, company policies, labor agreements, and Inflight procedures to ensure compliance
  • Support operational recovery efforts and assist with irregular operations as needed
  • Participate in audits, investigations, and follow-up actions related to operational or compliance matters
  • Ensure Crewmembers maintain compliance with safety procedures, onboard service standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Address customer service concerns and support service recovery efforts professionally and effectively
  • Communicate operational updates, departmental initiatives, and leadership expectations clearly and effectively
  • Partner with Training, Workforce Services, Human Resources, and Operational teams to support business needs
  • Facilitate meetings, base communications, and engagement initiatives to improve morale and teamwork
  • Escalate operational or personnel concerns appropriately and provide recommendations for resolution
  • Maintain accurate electronic files, reports, attendance tracking, and performance documentation
  • Analyze trends related to dependability, performance, and operational metrics and recommend corrective actions when necessary
  • Support staffing initiatives, onboarding activities, and mentoring of new Inflight Crewmembers
  • Assist leadership with special projects, base initiatives, and departmental programs as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned   

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development Diploma (GED)
  • Three (3) years related experience
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship 

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Five (5) years related experience
  • Three (3) years Supervisory experience  

 

Crewmember Expectations

  • Must qualify and maintain currency as an Inflight Crewmember
  • Participate in JetBlue’s Inflight Leadership Flying Program
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Identify safety and security concerns, issues, incidents, or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for ensuring crewmembers have requisite training, resources and support to achieve safety objectives
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

  • Combination of remote, operational, and airport terminal environments
  • May require evening, weekend, holiday, and on-call support based on operational needs
