Position Title: Senior Program Manager, Fuel Supply & SAF
Position Summary
The Senior Program Manager, Fuel Supply & SAF will focus on maintaining, developing, and executing JetBlue’s Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) program. This role is responsible for supporting the sourcing and procurement of SAF, coordinating closely with fuel producers, suppliers, and corporate partners, and advancing strategic collaborations that support JetBlue’s decarbonization goals.
The Senior Program Manager will actively engage with internal stakeholders across Fuel, Sustainability, Finance, Legal, and Sourcing to ensure alignment on SAF strategy, contracts, and implementation. The role also includes participation in industry events, working groups, and committees to stay informed on regulatory developments, market trends, and emerging SAF pathways, while representing JetBlue’s interests within the broader aviation and sustainability ecosystem.
Additionally, the Senior Program Manager will support the evaluation of new SAF opportunities and incentives, track volumes, pricing, and environmental attributes, and assist in reporting, compliance, and data integrity related to SAF usage. This role is essential in advancing JetBlue’s long-term sustainability goals, while also ensuring that operations remain practical and cost-efficient.
Essential Responsibilities
- Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) procurement
- Develop and implement a multi-year strategy for procurement growth and innovative partnerships
- Ensure regular delivery and tracking associated with existing SAF supplies
- Manage SAF accounting and external registries, transfer environmental attributes to corporate partners
- Review future opportunities for SAF growth, engage with next generation and future SAF producers
- Negotiate SAF offtake agreements with producers
- Lead engagement with corporate customers for SAF partnerships, engagement with corporate customer forums (SABA)
- Respond to RFPs for scope 3 SAF purchases; generate long-term partnership models for corporate partners to mitigate JetBlue’s financial risk
- Negotiate mandated SAF fees alongside conventional fuel team to deliver cost-savings for JetBlue
- Monitor and collaborate with the Sustainability team on new SAF mandates & global SAF policy; develop JetBlue’s perspective
- In partnership with the sustainability team, participate as necessary in external forums
- SAF data tracking
- Regular data collection and external reporting for emissions performance and SAF deliveries
- Track and report annual leadership KPIs
- Participate as JetBlue’s voice in industry working groups as accounting, reporting, and standards evolve (A4A working groups and others – RSB etc.)
- Upkeep roadmap and technical plan to reach goals including 2030 SAF target
- Internal engagement and external partnerships
- Develop materials and present to senior leaders at monthly SAF governance meetings
- Participate as JetBlue’s voice in multiple industry collaborations (A4A committees, IATA) and workgroups driving SAF growth
- Program growth and management
- Work collaboratively across the organization with departments including Fuel and Operations; Investor Relations; Corporate Communications; Marketing; Ops Analysis; Network Planning; Government Affairs; Finance; Sourcing; Corporate Sales; Loyalty; Treasury; Facilities; Properties; IT; Senior Leadership and more to identify and; lead key workstreams internally (accounting, sales, legal)
- Lead partnership with stakeholders for program management and individual customer engagement
- Distill key strategic themes, ideas, and opportunities into tangible executable initiatives
- Consistently promote SAF work internally and externally in cooperation with the communications department that conveys strategic objectives to various audiences.
- Maintain and regularly update all SOPs and internal manuals to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Leverage technology to automate, standardize, and streamline processes wherever possible to improve efficiency.
- Oversee and manage cross-functional projects in collaboration with internal teams, including Accounting, Legal, and Sustainability.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
- At least three (3) years of related work experience in SAF, renewable energy and other biofuel technology or aviation
- Strong writing and copy-editing skills in English
- Strong research ability
- Extremely detail-oriented for editing and organizational purposes
- Analytical or Quantitative education/experience or aptitude
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Deep understanding and knowledge of scientific findings on climate change
- Available for overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in sustainability, or aviation
- Previous experience in SAF, biofuels and energy market
- Proficiency in database tools and SAF specific software

- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $56,500.00 and $103,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
