Project Manager, JetBlue University (Program Implementation)

 

Position Summary

The Project Manager, JetBlue University supports initiatives that require the development and implementation of training curricula at JetBlue University (JBU). The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day managing of projects, both team-based (small scale) and JBU-wide (large scale), to ensure they are delivered on-time and within scope. The position will also assist with capacity planning, resource forecasting, and business case development.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage timelines, Stakeholders, processes, assets and overall project organization for JBU-wide initiatives to ensure established requirements and milestones are met
  • Support project leads with the management of the full instructional design, development, and delivery lifecycle
  • Assist with capacity planning and provide recommendations to optimize resource utilization and forecast future resource needs based on PM data insights
  • Assist with the identification and mitigation of project-related risks, including managing project scope
  • Establish and maintain sustainable best practices and requirements for project management based on department strategy
  • Maintain forms, templates, and tools necessary for project intake, prioritization, planning, and monitoring
  • Coordinate cross-team planning, communication, and project dependencies to ensure on-time program deliverables 
  • Lead handoffs and transition projects post-completion to the relevant team(s) for day-to-day maintenance, success measurement, and continuous improvement
  • Regularly communicate with Leadership and Stakeholders on project status
  • Assist with business case development and identification of project costs and benefits
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of relevant work experience 
  • Three (3) years of experience project managing in a learning organization
  • Experience managing projects through the Instructional Design lifecycle 
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply Project Management techniques, tools, and documentation practices
  • Highly organized with the ability to prepare concise and accurate documentation for project requirements
  • Excellent analytical skills 
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite especially strong in Microsoft Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint 
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Very effective interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, and collaborating
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree 
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 
  • Experience managing projects in a centralized learning organization

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice 
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance 
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
