Position Title: Manager Facilities OSC

 

Position Summary

The Facilities Manager ensures the care and upkeep of JetBlue’s Orlando Campus (Training Center, Hangar, and Lodge) and airport facilities in Florida and the Caribbean, providing JetBlue Crewmembers with a safe, comfortable, clean, efficient place in which to work and Customers with an award-winning ground experience. The Manager works in a fast paced but safety-conscious, strategic and tactical environment.  The Manager plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.  Reporting to the Director Facilities, the Manager will also help define the strategic and efficient improvement of JetBlue’s facility maintenance programs.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of our Orlando campus along with other cities in Florida and the Caribbean.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance (PM) programs for all mechanical and electronic equipment at our Training Center and Hangar.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of all contracts related to the operation of JetBlue’s Campus in Orlando
  • Guide and lead facility projects from inception to completion
  • Prepare and maintain operational budgets
  • Maintain and cultivate professional working relationships with our business partners, contractors, and project managers and act as a point of contact, and guidance, regarding their work at our facilities
  • Interface with local stakeholders and leadership on a daily basis to coordinate project and operational activities
  • Develop construction and maintenance related financial documents
  • Prepare request for quotes (RFQ) and request for proposal (RFP) documents for design and construction services and manage the execution of construction projects including bidding, design, inspections and customer receivership
  • Perform plan reviews and provide written comments to airport maintenance directives
  • Review and interpret AutoCAD drawings
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with JetBlue leadership and other key internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage and lead a team of shift work supervisors
  • Travel will be required   
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five (5) years of facilities management experience
  • Skilled and knowledgeable project manager
  • Ability to display strong initiative, internal motivation, and a willingness to take on responsibilities beyond those explicitly defined
  • Skills in problem solving with sound judgement to quickly resolve issues
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to cultivate a cooperative team approach
  • Demonstrates proactive and clear communication skills
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (%)
  • In possession of valid travel documents with the ability travel in and out of the United States
  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Ten years (10) years of facilities management experience 
  • Airline facilities experience
  • Knowledge of building infrastructure, electrical systems, plumbing or HVAC systems
  • Understanding of cost-saving methods as related to maintenance and renovation
  • Knowledge of  building codes

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
