Program Overview
JetBlue Gateways are industry-leading career development programs that open the door for both crewmembers and external applicants to pursue a path to a pilot or maintenance technician position at JetBlue.
Gateway Family is an innovative talent pathway for family members of JetBlue crewmembers who are seeking to become pilots at JetBlue. This program will allow a successful applicant to earn all certificates/ratings and gain valuable experience as a pilot at an approved airline and then come to JetBlue as a first officer after meeting all program and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements. Upon successful completion, candidates will go through the orientation and six-week training program for first officers.
Gateway Family
- Complete flight training and earn certificates/ratings at a training location of the candidate’s choosing
- Employment at a partner airline or Part 121 airline to meet all time and experience requirements
- New Hire Training as a JetBlue first officer
Minimum Requirements
- Eligible applicants must not exceed more than 500 hours total time upon beginning the program.
- Must be a child/stepchild, spouse, sibling or parent of a JetBlue crewmember.
- JetBlue crewmember must be in active status and have at least one (1) year of employment at JetBlue.
- JetBlue crewmember must be in good standing (not on any form of progressive guidance) at time of family member’s application.
- Must successfully complete the entire selection process, including application and interview.
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
- Applicants previously accepted into a JetBlue Gateway program are not eligible to apply.
- Upon completion of program, must have the ability to meet all requirements in JetBlue’s pilot trainee requisition.
