Position Title: Coordinator JBU Travel

Position Summary: 

The JBU Travel Coordinator assists trainees with all travel coordination required for training at JetBlue University.  The Coordinator works with hotels, other airlines, and business partners to handle a variety tasks such as travel logistics support and communication.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Support New Hire, Recurrent training and other business related travel accommodations and reservations in accordance with budget limits.
  • Communicate travel logistics to all trainees via email and respond to inquiries via phone, email or messenger.
  • Effectively follow and communicate respective workgroup policies and guidelines to all trainees.
  • Work with all stakeholders towards accommodating trainees in order to minimize disruptions to the training experience.
  • Handle escalated complex requests that will require additional research and/or resources. 
  • Continuously evaluate processes and procedures to communicate areas of opportunity to Leadership team.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:  

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma 
  • One (1) year of customer service experience
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet Explorer 
  • Flexible and able to work any time, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Knowledge of myIDTravel and Concur Travel 
  • Proficient in Sabre Interact, Sabre SNTE (native Sabre) and SabreRed (Travel Agency platform)
  • Familiar with Travel Industry and Travel Agency practices 
  • Strategic time management skills 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent decision-making skills with the ability to assess multiple options and to identify the best choice to serve a specified goal.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

 Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality  
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice 
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance 
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft 
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun 
  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards  
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))

Work Environment:  

  • Present during core business hours but hours may increase based on fluctuating workloads 

Physical Effort:
