Coordinator, Drug & Alcohol

 

Position Summary

The Drug & Alcohol Coordinator conducts drug and alcohol tests, facilitates educational opportunities, and provides customer service contact for our donors/clients, in designated regions and departments.  The Coordinator performs various administrative functions to ensure compliance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Department of Transportation (DOT), and state testing regulations.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform, schedule, and notify both drug and alcohol specimen collections in accordance with Federal and State regulations and JetBlue policy and standards
  • Provides support and is cross-trained in all administrative functions of the department.
  • Prepare monthly and various other analytical reports for publishing.
  • Instruct various classes, including indoctrination Supervisor training, etc.
  • Assist with Employee Assistance Program cases, including compliance by the Crewmember
  • Assist with internal audit of every aspect of the program without limitations, to include ensuring all files are maintained for inspection.
  • Upload and store information to various SharePoint sites
  • Maintains breath alcohol machine calibration schedule
  • Files and maintain excellent record keeping, which include filing CCF, ordering supplies, maintain and calibrate equipment
  • Tracks test results and audits for accuracy with mandatory guidelines                                  
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • One (1) year of experience in a service oriented role
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Analytical and auditing skills
  • Have a good working understanding of Microsoft Excel  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate and teach effectively
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Maintain schedule flexibility
  • Excellent organizational, coordination and follow through skills
  • Must complete and pass urine drug collections, saliva testing and breath alcohol testing training
  • Available for frequent travel (10%)
  • Willing to do collections outside of normal business hours
  • Able to travel and/or work variable hours, flexible shifts, including holidays and weekends
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • Will need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
  • Valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Two (2) years’ experience in a service oriented role
  • Two (2) years previous drug and/or alcohol specimen collection experience and/or medical experience
  • Completed Urine Drug Collections, Saliva Testing, and Breath Alcohol Testing training
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Maintain schedule flexibility
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of FAA Drug & Alcohol regulations

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
