Position Summary

The VP, Technology Infrastructure & Chief Information Security Officer leads JetBlue's technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, and anti-fraud capabilities. The VP is responsible for the technology foundation that supports the safe, reliable, and secure operation of the airline and enables the broader Technology organization to deliver.

 

The VP is accountable for modernizing JetBlue's technology foundation, strengthening cybersecurity and fraud prevention, and ensuring operational resilience. This leader partners across the enterprise to enable JetBlue's strategy and serves as a trusted advisor on technology, risk, and the tradeoffs required to achieve business outcomes.

 

Success requires an executive who combines technical depth with sound judgment, operational discipline, and strong enterprise leadership. The VP builds high-performing teams, raises organizational capability, and ensures technology and security remain grounded in business needs and serve as accelerators for JetBlue.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead JetBlue's infrastructure, cybersecurity, and anti-fraud strategies in support of business priorities and the company's risk appetite.
  • Transform and modernize JetBlue's technology infrastructure, simplifying legacy environments and adopting modern practices to create a scalable and resilient technology foundation.
  • Lead enterprise cybersecurity, including governance, security operations, identity and access management, vulnerability management, incident response, data protection, and third-party cyber risk.
  • Enable the business to manage and mitigate risk through practical guidance and secure-by-design practices.
  • Lead JetBlue's anti-fraud capabilities to prevent, detect, and respond to fraud while protecting the customer experience.
  • Ensure technology resilience through effective business continuity, disaster recovery, and cyber response capabilities.
  • Provide platforms and services that enable engineering teams to deliver effectively. Simplify services, expand self-service, and reduce friction across Technology teams.
  • Establish outcome-based operating models that measure performance and drive accountability.
  • Ensure strategic technology partners and service providers deliver strong performance and value.
  • Build a high-performing organization by attracting and developing strong talent, addressing performance, and evolving the team's capabilities as needs change.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends, translating relevant developments into opportunities for JetBlue.
  • Provide clear executive insight into technology performance, risk, resilience, organizational health, and investment priorities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience across technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, or related enterprise technology functions.
  • Experience leading technology or cybersecurity in a complex operating environment where reliability, resilience, and customer impact are critical.
  • Experience leading enterprise infrastructure across cloud, network, workplace, or related technology services.
  • Experience leading cybersecurity capabilities aligned to a traditional Chief Information Security Officer scope, including cyber risk, security operations, incident response, identity and access management, and regulatory alignment.
  • Experience managing significant budgets, strategic vendors, and service providers.
  • Demonstrated success transforming organizations, building high-performing technical teams, developing leaders, and addressing performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across organizational boundaries and translate technology and risk into business decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity, make difficult tradeoffs, and hold teams and partners accountable for outcomes.
  • Able to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response on short notice.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
  • Ability to attain a United States security clearance.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a CISO, Deputy CISO, Head of Infrastructure, CTO, or comparable senior technology executive.
  • Experience in aviation or another highly available, regulated, 24x7 operating environment.
  • Experience leading significant infrastructure modernization and improving engineering enablement, resilience, or business outcomes.
  • Experience leading or overseeing enterprise anti-fraud capabilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant cybersecurity and control frameworks, including NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and SOX.
  • Experience briefing executive leadership, boards, regulators, and auditors on technology performance and cybersecurity risk.

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System
  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position

Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is between $274,000.00 and $412,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
