Position Summary
The Supervisor, Engine Programs reports to and supports the Manager of Engine Programs Operations, Technical Operations in the management and performance monitoring of Engine and Auxiliary Power Unit Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (APU MRO) services, leases, exchanges, Sale Lease Backs and projects. The Supervisor oversees the execution of Technical Operations Engine agreements and implementation of Powerplant Repair and Procurement processes in support of JetBlue’s overall long-term powerplant maintenance strategy. The Supervisor manages all powerplant repair activities and business partner commercial requirements relating to Engines, Auxiliary Power Units and respective components and accessories. This position interacts with a variety of business partners and JetBlue crewmembers to achieve high quality services, on-time delivery and competitive maintenance costs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborate with JetBlue Engineering and other internal stakeholders on on-boarding, maintaining and returning Engine and APU leases, exchanges, Sale Lease Backs and other maintenance projects, and MRO’s to maintain a planned Engine and APU removal schedule.
- Lead, develop and train a team of crewmembers with a focus on structured processes, continuous improvement, and career path development.
- Oversee Engine maintenance projects and transactions involving Engine leases, exchanges, Sale Lease Backs.
- Support the Engine Programs Strategy team in developing processes and track maintenance projects.
- Monitor JetBlue and MRO data; identify performance issues and implements corrective action plans with the business partner.
- Liaise with crewmembers across Technical Operations and other JetBlue departments, including Risk, Finance, Accounting and Legal.
- Maintain a process to identify, assess, execute and track cost savings initiatives that reduce JetBlue Cost per Available Seat Mile (CASM), including processes that speed up lease return process or completion of project, shop repairs and minimize "over and above" and “out of scope” costs.
- Assist in the management of agreements to ensure business partners perform at contract-defined levels of service. Ensure all JetBlue contractual entitlements are obtained, including discounts, credits, exchanges, loaners and Beyond Economical Repair (BER) replacements, as applicable.
- Identify Tech Ops repair requirements and collaborate with Strategic Sourcing in sourcing of MRO services.
- Provide guidance to the budget process. Support monthly Accounting reviews and timely approval of quotes and invoices where applicable.
- Support all aspects of JetBlue Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP).
- Ensure adherence to all aspects of JetBlue JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) and CAMP.
- Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, goal achievement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- Three (3) years of aviation experience in Engineering, Aircraft Records or similar technical field
- Two (2) years of aviation experience in material operations or supply chain
- Ability to understand technical documents
- Familiarization with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
- One (1) year of experience in a program management or supervisory role
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage project communications and stakeholder expectations
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
- Currently in possession of a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
- Available for occasional overnight travel (20%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or Aviation Discipline
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license
- Seven (7) years of aviation experience in aircraft maintenance, material operations or supply chain
- Three (3) years of Repair, Warranty and/or experience engine leasing experience
- Knowledge of aviation maintenance contracts and different financial and operational structures
- Knowledge of technical material management
- Knowledge of aircraft, engines and components repair processes
- Knowledge of Tech Ops Maintenance costs, budgeting, and trend analysis
- Experience working with MRO providers
- Experience managing aircraft component repair processes
- Knowledge of Maintenance & Engineering database systems (such as Trax)
- Knowledge of corporate finance, cost accounting, asset management, and financial forecasting
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)

- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $72,000.00 and $118,400.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
