Position Summary
JetBlue Airways is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Engineer for the Customer Support area. The QA Customer Support team is primarily responsible for supporting Sabre products and other Customer Support applications. This is a unique opportunity to join an excellent team and have a meaningful impact on the Quality Engineering and automation process and culture.
The Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer will have a passion for Quality and application usability and own the quality of deliverables end-to-end, working closely with the company's Business, Product, and Product Engineering teams. The Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer will also work with the Development and DevOps teams and product stakeholders to ensure successful end-to-end Integration and API testing efforts and with a heavy emphasis on scripting and execution of Eggplant Automation scripts in a hybrid environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements and develop the Test Strategy, Requirements Traceability Matrix, and Test Plan and create Test Validation Reports.
- Experience with QA processes in an agile environment.
- Lead a team of Quality Engineers to support new and ongoing project efforts.
- Assist the Quality Manager to determine testing scope, approach and effort with an emphasis on test automation and provide mentoring for junior engineers.
- Gather and maintain automation metrics specific to quality and software testing.
- Build and execute and maintain regression testing against the various builds of the application.
- Proactively participate in the review process of functional specifications and interface specifications for test planning and generating test cases.
- Track test case defects and failures in JIRA and or Qtest and remediation efforts and validate and report the results.
- Involved in defect tracking meetings with the developer and business team.
- Verify that application functionality meets business needs and provides a great user experience.
- Own end-to-end quality of features from test case writing to automation testing.
- Write code that verifies and quantifies the quality of applications.
- Debug code, automate repetitive tasks, and implement required automation to streamline our software quality process.
- Define and implement improvements to our existing processes.
- Develop and maintain automated scripts promoting reusable components and maintainability.
- Perform failure analysis to determine root cause of failure.
- Drive the conversion of manual tests to automated whenever possible.
- Assist with triage, diagnosis, and resolution of issues discovered across the platform.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant area; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience.
- Experience working in the Airline industry.
- Four (4) years of previous experience as a QA Automation Engineer.
- Four (4) years of previous experience using Test Management Software.
- Two (2) years of experience in Sabre products or other relevant Customer Support applications.
- Strong Test Automation tool experience in Eggplant.
- Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Understanding Microsoft Azure technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Available for overnight travel (10%).
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Knowledge of different testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of Rest API and HTTP Methods.
- Experience with API Testing tools Postman or Rest Assured.
- Experience with iOS and Android testing.
- Eggplant Digital Automation Intelligence.
- Focused and driven to excellence to ensure the quality of deliverables.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service and an understanding of how IT is ultimately delivered to the Customer.

- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance.
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light aircraft cleaning.

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $117,500.00 and $150,400.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
