Title: Senior Manager Route Planning

Position Summary:
The Senior Manager Route Planning leads the Planning Department’s short, medium, and long-term network planning efforts by providing strategic direction, analytical leadership and comprehensive industry insight. With a strong understanding of airline industry dynamics and an analytical background, the Senior Manager shapes network planning recommendations and influences decisions that support JetBlue’s goal of maximizing network profitability. This position – and its accompanying team – serves as the data analytics and strategic insights leader for the Route Planning team, guiding analytical priorities, developing network strategy, and supporting senior leadership and a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Take a lead role in developing and shaping the strategic network vision by translating complex industry, competitive, revenue, and operational data into actionable network planning recommendations
- Develop and evolve the network intelligence toolkit used to drive capacity planning decisions and network strategy
- Provide strategic oversight and guidance for short-, medium-, and long-term network planning, including one (1), three (3), and five (5) year planning outlooks, as appropriate
- Evaluate industry revenue trends and identify potential areas of strength and weakness on a macro and micro level
- Guide analysis of JetBlue Airways’ performance relative to the competition on a route by route basis and identify areas of opportunity to achieve maximum profitability potential
- Monitor competitive activity and analyze the effect of industry changes
- Lead cross-functional network projects with various internal teams across the commercial and finance organizations
- Drive research of potential new markets and preparation of revenue forecasts, continually optimizing JetBlue’s network
- Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance or a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience
- Six (6) years of analytical experience in a related field
- Five (5) years of experience in Airline Network Planning, Airline Revenue Management, or a related analytical field
- Proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, SQL, Tableau
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a related field
- Eight (8) years of airline analytical experience in a related field

- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Likely need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

- Identify safety and security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
- The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $141,000.00 and $211,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
