Title: Senior Manager Dispatch Operations

Position Summary
The Senior Manager Dispatch Operations is responsible for leading all phases of the Dispatch and Load Planning functions in accordance with company policy and Federal Aviation Regulations established for a safe, efficient, and economical operation. The Senior Manager oversees the Managers within the dispatch department ensuring that they effectively lead the frontline dispatch and Central load planning teams in collaboration with other leaders within the SOC. Cross training in other SOC leadership roles is a requirement of this position including knowledge and execution as Manager on Duty System Operations Center, Duty Director Systems Operations, and Incident Commander during crisis management.
This role is responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance, ensuring operational excellence, and executing department strategies that align with policies and procedures. The Senior Manager Dispatch operations will foster a SOC culture of collaboration, technology innovation, leadership development, and achieving JetBlue operational goals while liaising with internal and external stakeholders on a daily basis.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop procedures to improve the department functions and maintain an exceptional level of regulatory compliance and technology standards
- Analyze workload, staffing, and personnel requirements identifying trends and recognizing strategic improvements
- Establish work schedules in accordance with FARs and company policy
- Collaborate with JBU to maintain and audit Department Training records
- Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to manage budget controls.
- Work with System Operations leaders to develop and execute operational strategy
- Ensure team readiness for response to significant irregular operations and emergency events
- Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement, driving engagement and accountability across all teams.
- Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
- Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
- Six (6) years aviation or airline or related experience
- Three (3) years of experience in a leadership role (Manager level or above)
- Experience effectively developing and leading teams
- Must be able to secure a Federal Secret Clearance
- Must meet Federal Regulations to occupy a cockpit jumpseat
- Available for emergency response to SOC (Long Island City, NY) on weekends, holidays, and odd hours with a maximum of two hours’ notice
- Able to work flexible hours and rotating shifts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and people skills
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- JetBlue Dispatch experience
- Strong knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and international regulatory requirements
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives to enhance efficiency and drive performance

- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

- Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents, or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures, and risk controls
- Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
- The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position

Compensation
- The base pay range for this position is between $120,000.00 and $190,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
