Position Title: Senior Analyst, People Data Insights

 

Position Summary: 

At JetBlue, our mission is to inspire humanity. The People Data Insights team is uniquely positioned to inspire our 20,000 JetBlue Crewmembers by using expertise in analytics & data, research, and psychology. We strive to provide leaders with the data insights needed to drive the business forward through people analytics in areas such as diversity, equity, & inclusion (DEI), attrition, Crewmember mobility, and performance. Through our survey programs (SpeakUp survey, Candidate Perspective, and Exit Interview), pre-hire assessments, and linkage of People data to our business data, we ensure we are guiding the business in the most impactful way.

 

The Senior Analyst will join the team as an important contributor to People analytics efforts heavily focused on the ethical use of People metrics to inform the engagement, retention, and the overall experience of Crewmembers. Key projects they will be involved in include: DEI research and programming, advancing our automated analytics & reporting, and the development and implementation of user-friendly dashboards. The Senior Analyst likes to directly work with data and metrics for the majority of their work, and is passionate about analyzing and reporting on data across the Crewmember lifecycle to help stakeholders get the insights they need in a people-focused, data-driven organization. The Senior Analyst is willing to learn and build expertise in new technologies and subject domains for continuous improvement of our data practices.

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs related to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, selection, internal mobility, and other areas to recommend improvements
  • Increase awareness of People data trends through the creation and execution of data dashboards and reports
  • Fulfill emerging analytics requests to support data needs of partner teams
  • Provide ad hoc research in other focal areas such as attrition, hiring, survey feedback, and internal mobility
  • Work cross functionally with other teams to understand their data needs - developing new dashboards, reports, and presentations
  • Develop and run cadenced reports and analysis
  • Help to maintain and manage People data infrastructure
  • Ensure understanding of the results of statistical analyses and reported metrics for diverse audiences
  • Provide integrated insights to support business decision-making drawing on People data, business data, and external research and case studies.
  • Other responsibilities based on arising needs

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:  

  • Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Statistics, or other related field
  • Three (3) years of experience in analysis and metrics development
  • Advanced knowledge in analytical and data mining tools (e.g. R, SPSS, Excel) 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of statistics and the application of research techniques through a work sample
  • Demonstrated database management skills and metrics interpretation through a work sample
  • High level of organization & attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located  

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Ph.D. or ABD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or other related field
  • Expert knowledge in analytical and data mining tools (e.g. R, SPSS, Excel)
  • Expert knowledge of organizational research practices
  • Experience using Tableau, or another tool to develop dashboards
  • Familiarity with SQL
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, including ability to present complex data and analytics to large and diverse audiences using simple language

 

Crewmember Expectations:  

  • Regular attendance and punctuality  
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice 
  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance 
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards  
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
