Position Summary
The Project Manager Technology Programs will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering a portfolio of crewmember technology initiatives. This role requires an individual with strong project management expertise, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of working across various project management methodologies—waterfall, agile, and product/outcome-focused—the Project Manager will ensure project alignment with business goals, timelines, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating complex, cross-functional projects, possesses strong communication skills, and demonstrates adaptability in a dynamic environment. This role requires a proactive approach to issue and risk management, with an emphasis on achieving results in alignment with the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun.
Essential Responsibilities
- Project Lifecycle Management:
- Initiation: Define project scope, align stakeholders, secure necessary funding/resources, and establish initial high-level requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Planning: Develop detailed project requirements, create structured project plans, and establish timelines and success criteria. Collaborate with Technology and business teams to allocate resources and manage any necessary vendor or partner engagements.
- Execution: Oversee project execution, coordinating between Technology, business units, and vendors to ensure alignment. Collect and maintain technical documentation, deployment plans, and support materials.
- Control: Actively monitor and manage project scope, budget, timeline, quality, and risks, applying changes as needed to ensure project success.
- Closure: Conduct formal project closure, capturing learnings and feedback, validating against success criteria, and closing out any contracts or accounts as necessary.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Serve as the primary liaison among internal and external partners, maintaining regular communication and ensuring alignment on project goals, timelines, and changes.
- Methodology Flexibility: Adapt project management approach to best fit the project, applying waterfall for structured, linear initiatives, agile for iterative development, and outcome-focused methods for product-oriented work. Drive results in line with each methodology’s best practices and project-specific goals.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues, escalating as needed to maintain project momentum and ensure proactive problem-solving.
- Quality and Compliance Assurance: Ensure all projects meet organizational, audit, security, and regulatory standards, delivering solutions that align with Technology and business policies.
- Continuous Improvement: Advocate for and implement process improvements, contributing to a culture of learning and innovation within the Technology teams.
- Other Responsibilities: Support additional Technology projects and initiatives as assigned, contributing to broader team and company objectives.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- Three (3) years of active project management experience
- Practical knowledge of the Project and Program Management Lifecycle.
- Sound decision making ability, analytical reasoning and organizational skills with the ability to successfully complete multiple projects simultaneously
- Financial acumen, net present value analysis, moderate return on investment analysis, and ability to structure a business case (or ability to quickly learn said skills)
- Technology and systems knowledge (cursory knowledge of how Information Technology systems work from a business standpoint)
- Strong teamwork skills
- Self-motivated and the ability to work with little supervision
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Visio)
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
- Flexible and able to work at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of airline technology products
- Ability to tailor communication style to different audiences, and to exercise good judgment in frequency and nature of communications to different parties (senior management, stakeholders, team members, etc.)
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to rapidly resolve issues and recognize when escalation is necessary.
- Excellent problem solving and structured thinking skills.
Crewmember Expectations:
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
- Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
- The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $90,500.00 and $128,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
