Position Title: Project Manager IT Mobile 

 

Position Summary

The Project Manager, IT Mobile plans, coordinates and manages a portfolio of projects for JetBlue’s suite of mobile products, including our native apps and notifications. The Project Manager interfaces with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, Quality Assurance (QA) and external partners to actively lead all aspects of a mobile project from start to finish. Core responsibilities include project planning, estimates gathering, schedule management, status reporting, documentation, actuals tracking, change management, roll out and formalized project closure.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Define project high level plan, establish stakeholders, gather estimates and secure funding and/or internal resources

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, Architects, Designers, QA, subject matter experts and other IT members to drive execution of the product vision while managing risks and dependencies

  • Interface between IT and business units and/or business partners

  • Track and drive status and provide updates to key stakeholders and program managers

  • Assist with creation of and track cost associated with business cases

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal/external customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements in partnership with Product Manager and Business Analyst

  • Manage changes, risks, scope, cost, quality, communications, time and procurement

  • Manage releases with a deployment plan and collect required project artifacts, including technical documentation and production support plan

  • Collect formal acceptance, evaluate established success criteria to determine success. Close cost accounts and contracts

  • Ensure that JetBlue IT and business standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with Company policies, audits, security and regulatory requirements  

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience

  • Three (3) years of experience managing projects OR Master’s Degree with two (2) years’ experience managing projects

  • Knowledge of industry standards in project management and development methodologies, including Agile

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Project, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, Word and Visio

  • Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts

  • Knowledge of IT disciplines and interdependencies 

  • Knowledge of budget processes

  • Knowledge & experience of project cost tracking 

  • Flexibility, agility and change management skills 

  • Available for occasional overnight travel (15%)

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of mobile industry landscape and experience managing mobile and/or digital consumer-facing products

  • Knowledge of mobile App Store and Play Store release processes

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification by Project Management Institute (PMI)

  • Experience managing project budgets greater than $250K with several team members

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and managerial skills including the ability to motivate others

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels and in diverse environments 

  • Ability to manage risk 

  • Ability to tailor communication style to different audiences and to exercise good judgment in frequency and nature of communications to different parties (senior management, stakeholders, team members, etc.).

  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment 

  • Ability to rapidly resolve issues and recognize when escalation is necessary 

  • Strong business partner management, negotiation and resolution skills 

  • Excellent problem solving and structured thinking skills 

  • Excellent customer service and an understanding of how IT is ultimately delivered to the Customer

  • Knowledge of airline industry landscape

Crewmember Expectations: 

  • Regular attendance and punctuality 

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $90,500.00 and $128,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
