Project Manager (IT Corporate Products)
 

Position Summary:

The Project Manager (IT Corporate Products) manages initiatives for People, Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Strategic Sourcing and other groups within the Corporate Products space and coordinates the implementation of a portfolio of projects through all phases of the Project life-cycle from pre-planning to post go-live live support. The Project Manager provides direction, coaching, and mentoring to share their knowledge and expertise in project management to others.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Scope the length and complexity of the project tasks, deliverables, and milestones
  • Manage deliverables that are within the project scope as well as changes for requirements that are added or deleted
  • Schedule and coordinate the tasks of the highly interdependent deliverables, resources, projects, and initiatives
  • Identify the projects and/or programs critical path and plan and measure the project goals and objectives
  • Effective project cost management through planning, estimating, budgeting, and controlling costs to ensure completion within fiscal constraints.
  • Value projects for cost savings, reports expenditures, prepares funding allocations, and justifies cost  discrepancies from planned to actual costs
  • Effectively address project risks through mitigation response and escalation strategy.
  • Understand activities within all project phases inclusive of: (a) initiation, (b) planning, (c) executing, (d) monitoring and controlling, (e) closing.
  • Report status and address project questions with the team and leadership and provide up-to-date information on the project dashboard and SharePoint sites to ensure all status reports are current and correct for all stakeholders to review
  • Work with various departments and provides, when necessary, assistance in project management to move initiatives forward
  • Offer proficiency and expertise to others and shares knowledge and insight into other projects/programs
  • Create and maintain a repository for department-level projects and knowledge management, allowing our business stakeholders to regularly communicate relevant information to senior leadership
  • Utilize project management tools for resource planning and project estimates
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Five (5) years active project management experience
  • Understand concepts of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
  • Practical knowledge of the Project and Program Management Lifecycle  
  • Sound decision making ability, analytical reasoning and organizational skills with the ability to successfully complete multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply project management techniques, tools and documents
  • Exposure to business processes in reference to “Procure to Pay”, “Order to Cash”, “Record to Report”, “Hire to Retire”.
  • Financial acumen, net present value analysis, moderate return on investment analysis, and ability to structure a business case (or ability to quickly learn said skills)
  • Technology and systems knowledge (cursory knowledge of how Information Technology systems work from a business standpoint)
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work with little supervision
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Project, Visio and Office Suite (Excel, Word PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Flexible and able to work at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Knowledge of SAP and SAP business processes
  • Previous Human Resource ,Finance, or Supply Chain experience
  • Project Management Certification (PMP)

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
