Position Summary

The Project Manager, Airport Experience Technology Products, manages a portfolio of projects in the Airport Technology Product space through all phases of the project lifecycle. The Project Manager interfaces with fellow crewmembers, business partners, and others within an assigned functional area to actively lead all aspects of the project, including project definition, project planning, documentation, execution, tracking, reporting, and rollout, while interfacing with training teams and support groups, on the way to formalized project closure. The Project Manager also provides direction, coaching, and mentoring by sharing their knowledge and expertise in project management with others. This position will report into the Manager, Airport Experience Technology.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Create and own the project plan for each assignment according to project management standards; project plan should include management of scope, budget, schedule, issues, risk, communication, quality, and other plans as needed.
  • Scope the length and difficulty of the project tasks, deliverables, and milestones.
  • Create and/or update requirements and specifications documentation. 
  • Define project team; establish resource allocation with managers of each IT discipline; facilitate product purchasing and establish success criteria.
  • Function as primary interface between IT and business units and/or business partners.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal/external customers to analyze informational needs and functional requirements and deliver those requirements and use case documentation, as applicable.
  • Report status and address project questions with the team and leadership. Provide up to date information on collaborative tools (i.e. Portfolio Project Management tool, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint sites) to ensure all status reports are current and correct for all stakeholders to review.
  • Maintain the repository for department-level projects and knowledge management, allowing our business stakeholders to regularly communicate relevant information to senior leadership.
  • Ensure that JetBlue IT and business standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with company policies, audits, security, and regulatory requirements.  
  • Manage deliverables that are within scope as well as changes for those items that are added or deleted.
  • Identify the projects and/or programs’ critical path and plan and measure the project goals and objectives.
  • Track decisions, issues, and risks; maintain project log; develop mitigation responses and strategies to address project risks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/General Education Development (GED) Diploma and four (4) years of active project management experience supporting projects with business user and IT components
  • Three (3) years of experience managing large portfolios or operating budgets and delivering large-scale IT projects (Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF), SEI, Agile Methods, Rational Unified Process (RUP))
  • Practical knowledge of the Project and Program Management Lifecycle
  • Sound decision making ability, analytical reasoning and organizational skills with the ability to successfully complete multiple projects simultaneously
  • Financial acumen, net present value analysis, moderate return on investment analysis, and ability to structure a business case (or ability to quickly learn said skills)
  • Technology and systems knowledge (cursory knowledge of how Information Technology systems work from a business standpoint)
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work with little supervision
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Visio)
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (15-20%)
  • Flexible and able to work at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of Operational Products
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow
  • Ability to tailor communication style to different audiences, and to exercise good judgment in frequency and nature of communications to different parties (senior management, stakeholders, team members, etc.)
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to rapidly resolve issues and recognize when escalation is necessary
  • Excellent problem solving and structured thinking skills

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation: 

  • The base pay range for this position is between $90,500.00 and $128,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
