Position Summary

The Manager, Technology Finance & Portfolio Management plays a critical role in driving strategic alignment, financial stewardship, and operational excellence within the Technology organization. This role supports the delivery of the department’s product vision and strategy by developing scalable frameworks for managing roadmaps and initiative lists, streamlining processes, and enhancing communication across teams, stakeholders, and leadership.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management & Operational Excellence:
  • Oversee and manage the Technology project portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and effective resource allocation.
  • Develop and implement best practices for product planning, feature prioritization, and innovation initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Act as a key liaison for integrating product management into PI (Program Increment) planning and Agile ceremonies.
  • Standardize and optimize the project and initiative intake process from start to finish, including the development of business cases, approval flows, and prioritization mechanisms.
  • Define and maintain standardized work management methodologies for consistent and efficient execution.
  • Act as the custodian of Technology-related standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with business needs.
  • Organize and host training sessions for Technology staff and business units on updated procedures and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance reporting accuracy, and foster collaboration across the organization.
  • Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging teams to adopt modern tools and methodologies
  • Financial Management:
  • Develop, govern, and manage program and project budgets to achieve financial objectives and maintain cost efficiency.
  • Drive financial transparency by creating robust processes for tracking and reporting Technology costs across programs, projects, and services.
  • Deliver accurate financial forecasts, variance analyses, and actionable insights to inform leadership decisions.
  • Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to enhance the budget management processes, including tracking spend variance and supporting business case reviews.
  • Coordinate with Resource Management leaders to ensure alignment of funding, staffing, and project/program priorities.
  • Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement.   
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Technology department's goals.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • Five (5) years of technology portfolio, finance or resource management experience
  • Knowledge of technology fundamentals and latest technology trends across product management
  • Experience using data and working within relational databases
  • Experience managing a budget and developing business cases
  • Experience managing large projects or initiatives, including presenting recommendations to senior leadership
  • Available for moderate overnight domestic and international travel (up to 20%)
  • In possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States 
  • Able to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response on short notice
  • Able to provide on-call support
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience with AirTable or similar
  • Strong program/ project management experience
  • Strong communicator, written and verbal
  • Design/ media communications experience to help bring product roadmaps and vision to life
  • Familiar with various collaboration products and best practices
  • Exposure to JetBlue’s Technology disciplines and interdependencies and business units and how their needs drive Technology strategy
  • Understanding of Technology Infrastructure including hardware/software, datacenter operations and operating systems
  • Strong knowledge of new and emerging technologies and a proven ability to critically evaluate same
  • Ability to translate technical knowledge into business terms and present operational information to executive leadership
  • In depth knowledge of Incident Response, and Incident Management processes and technology

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System
  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Work Environment:

  • Traditional office environment with the ability to work remotely

Physical Effort:  

  • Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $118,800.00 and $177,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
