Position Title: Manager System Ground Service Equipment GSE (LSC)
Position Summary
The Manager System Ground Service Equipment reports to the Senior Manager Airport Services and Planning. The Manager System Ground Service Equipment oversees all functions related to Ground Service Equipment (GSE) in the JetBlue system. The Manager maintains the highest standards for GSE by emphasizing improved reliability and reduced costs associated with maintaining the fleet. In addition, the Manager System Ground Service Equipment (GSE), leads in maintaining the fleet management system with up to date information about fleet status while initiating strategic programs to reduce procurement and maintenance costs.
Essential Responsibilities
- Defines initiatives to reduce costs and increase utilization of GSE throughout the system
- Determines methods for measuring GSE reliability and up-time
- Analyzes costs and trends relative to system GSE performance
- Works closely with Resource Planning team to determine the quantity of required equipment at every BlueCity based on flight schedules and utilization requirements
- Reallocates resources throughout the system as scheduled dictate
- Coordinates with Strategic Sourcing team to negotiate and procure new equipment
- Leads strategic maintenance initiatives to provide lowest cost options throughout the system
- Creates process improvement techniques that are reports on a regular basis to management
- Accountable to senior management for ensuring the safety and security of ground handling operations
- Establishes and update guidelines about equipment use and upkeep procedures
- Provides up-to-date fleet reliability information
- Emphasizes continuous improvement and ensures maintenance is scheduled and performed for all equipment
- Creates industry-leading reliability within
- Provides GSE leadership support to JetBlue Airport General Managers overseeing GSE Business partner functions at multiple stations
- Ensures that policies and procedures are conducted in accordance with applicable federal regulations and standards
- Accountable to senior management for ensuring the safety and security of ground handling operations
- Ensures that policies and procedures are conducted in accordance with applicable federal regulations and standards.
- Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support the engagement, growth, goal achievement
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- Five (5) years fleet management experience or related to fleet management
- Three (3) years in a supervisory role
- Capacity to manage finance work related to budgets and invoices
- Available for overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in the airline industry

- Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
Equipment:
- Computer and other office equipment
- Tug, push back tractor, forklift, deicing vehicle and other ground service equipment
Work Environment:
- Airport environment
- Subject to weather and elevated noise levels within airports
- Ability to stand for an extended period of time
- High noise area (jet engines)
- Shift work and irregular hours due to irregular operations
Physical Effort:
- Position requires extremely strenuous physical work involving objects in excess of 100 pounds occasionally and/or in excess of 50 pounds frequently. (Very Heavy)
Compensation:

- The base pay range for this position is between $81,000.00 and $136,200.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
