Title:  Manager Staff Counsel

Position Summary

The Manager, Corporate Counsel is responsible for providing transactional based legal advice and guidance to a variety of JetBlue departments for supporting the preparation and negotiation of agreements, and assisting departments in the resolution of business partner disputes.  The Manager ensures required due diligence of third party suppliers and business partners and responds to requests for interpretations on the application of laws and company policy. Essential Responsibilities

· Provide general corporate counsel on a wide variety of topics, including data security and privacy matters 

· Provide support on large scale transactions and other projects as necessary

· Create and maintain form agreements for various JetBlue departments

· Collaborate with other business areas in improving communication and teamwork to drive efficiencies

· Collaborate with JetBlue Business departments to identify, design, and implement improvements for risk management, contract management, and other processes

· Render advice to company management with respect to legal matters

· Performs legal research and analysis

· Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

· Law degree and admission to the Bar of a state or jurisdiction of the United States

· Five (5) years transaction experience with a major law firm or in-house legal position 

· One (1) year experience with software technology licensing 

· Extensive experience in drafting and negotiating agreements

· Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

· Excellent organizational and analytical skills 

· Excellent team and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work well under limited supervision in a fast-paced environment

· Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test

· Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

· Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, 

· Experience in understanding and interpreting US and global data privacy laws, regulations and industry standards, and information governance

· Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

· When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

· Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

· Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards

· Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))

· Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls

· Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
