Title:  Manager Quality Management Systems

Position Summary:

The Manager Quality Management System reports to the General Manager ETOPS and HAZMAT Programs and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Internal Evaluation Program (IEP), Quality and Regulatory Compliance Programs. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and implements the IEP / QMS
  • Oversees and manages the Internal Evaluation Program (IEP), Quality and Regulatory Compliance Programs
  • Maintains the content of the IEP / QMS Manual
  • Ensures staff is trained to perform evaluation duties in accordance with standards and procedures established within the IEP / QMS Manual
  • Develops an annual evaluation schedule
  • Reviews evaluation results, recommendations and responses, and provides feedback.
  • Reviewing departmental corrective action plans (CAP) for accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Identifies significant findings and provides recommendations to leadership.
  • Communicate and coordinate with system, process, and function owners to assure that hazards identified during evaluations are mitigated.
  • Educate Leadership on standards, principles, best practices of QMS; engage stakeholders to communicate QMS needs and coming changes
  • Assures corrective measures are implemented and follow-up evaluations are completed to ensure effectiveness. 
  • Create Quality metrics to monitor and trend Quality throughout the organization
  • Ensure evaluation records are maintained and are current.
  • Oversees the collection, analysis, measurement and reporting of safety, security and compliance data.
  • Communicates and coordinates with regulatory agencies on a regular basis.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Five (5) years aviation experience in 14CFR Part 121 Air Carrier Operations
  • Three (3) years’ experience in 121 Air Carrier operational and quality programs
  • Previous management experience
  • Ability to process, analyze and present data to leadership.
  • Have a thorough understanding of relevant CFRs and other compliance standards
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to develop reports and present to JetBlue leadership and various regulatory authorities.
  • Available for overnight travel (40%)
  • Ability to create dashboards / Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Ability to analyze data, perform root cause analysis and provide recommendations for corrective action plans. 
  • Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Possess a pilot, dispatch, or mechanic certificate and/or a Certified Quality Manager
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Able to communicate technical issues in an assertive and tactful manner
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi task and work under pressure in a dynamic environment

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) and Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Work Environment:

  • Elevated noise levels in terminal areas and outdoor conditions
  • On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in support of operations

Physical Effort: 

  • Position requires light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.  (Light)
