Position Title: Manager, People Data Insights (Crewmember Listening)

 

Position Summary:

The People Data Insights team is uniquely positioned to inspire our 20,000 JetBlue Crewmembers by using expertise in analytics & data, research, and psychology. We strive to provide leaders with the data insights needed to drive the business forward through people analytics in areas such as diversity, equity, & inclusion (DEI), attrition, Crewmember mobility, and performance, as well as survey, pre-hire assessments, and general efforts linking our People data to our business data to ensure we are having the most impact.

 

The Manager, Crewmember Listening is responsible for JetBlue’s People surveys. The Manager will lead all efforts to develop and refine key surveys and oversee administration, often in partnership with JetBlue’s Business Partners. Examples of key surveys include JetBlue’s candidate experience survey, engagement survey, safety survey, and exit survey. The Manager will analyze survey data, and conduct linkage research using rigorous statistical techniques. Partnering with the rest of the People Data Insights team, the Manager will generate business insights to aid leaders in maximizing all aspects of talent that lead to bottom-line results while creating a holistic view of the Crewmember experience.

 

The Manager collaborates cross-functionally, and with all levels of the organization. This individual has great attention to detail, is passionate about data and analytics, and has experience with research methodology. The Manager is willing to learn and build expertise in new technologies and subject domains for continuous improvement of our products.

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Shape and run all of JetBlue’s company-wide survey programs (e.g., engagement, candidate experience, exit, onboarding, 360, orientation, etc.) in partnership with JetBlue’s Business Partners.
  • Ensure all appropriate data privacy, security, and control requirements are appropriately utilized in all Crewmember listening programs.
  • Collaborate with different areas of the business to identify research questions based on organizational needs, and effectively collect data to answer those questions.
  • Conduct the research and analysis to address business questions.
  • Provide integrated insights to support business decision-making drawing on listening data, business data, and external research and case studies.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to drive strategic decisions, behaviors, and meaningful change.
  • Provide thought leadership and a strategic lens to evolve JetBlue’s listening framework, strategies, and practices

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:  

  • Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Statistics, Human Resources, or other related field
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of applied data analysis and metric development experience
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience developing and administering surveys
  • Demonstrated database management skills and metrics interpretation through a work sample
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, including ability to present complex data and analytics to large and diverse audiences using simple language
  • High level of organization & attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located  

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Ph.D. or ABD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or other related field
  • Expert knowledge in analytical and data mining tools (e.g. R, SPSS, Excel)
  • Expert knowledge of organizational research practices
  • Experience using Tableau, or another tool to develop dashboards

 

Crewmember Expectations:  

  • Regular attendance and punctuality  
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice 
  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance 
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft 
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun 
  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards  
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
