Position Title: Manager, People Data Insights

Position Summary:

The People Data Insights team is uniquely positioned to inspire our crewmembers by using expertise in analytics, data, research, and psychology to help leaders make informed, people-centered decisions. The team provides insights across the crewmember lifecycle, including selection and assessment, listening strategy, attrition, internal mobility, engagement, workforce metrics, dashboards, and organizational research.

 

The Manager, People Data Insights will serve as the primary owner of the team’s People data infrastructure, reporting ecosystem, and reusable analytics products. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving the data pipelines, curated datasets, reporting tools, dashboards, and data products that enable the People Data Insights team, People Business Partners, Compensation, senior leaders, and other stakeholders to understand workforce trends and take action. The Manager will work across multiple People data sources and systems to ensure data are accurate, clean, accessible, and decision-ready. This includes maintaining pipelines into Snowflake, developing reproducible analytics workflows using R and GitHub, creating dashboards in Tableau, building reporting products using R Markdown/flexdashboard, and translating complex workforce data into clear insights for diverse audiences.

 

This role requires a rare combination of deep technical expertise, strong data visualization and storytelling skills, People analytics domain knowledge, and consultative partnership. The Manager will not only maintain the data foundation for the team but will also help leaders and partners use data in meaningful ways to understand workforce risks, identify trends, evaluate options, and guide business decisions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own and maintain People Data Insights data infrastructure, including data pipelines, curated datasets, data quality checks, documentation, and processes that ensure data are accurate, timely, and analysis-ready
  • Clean, integrate, and manage data from multiple People systems and sources, including maintaining pipelines into Snowflake and supporting appropriate access to reliable workforce data
  • Serve as a liaison between People Data Insights and IT to support data access, systems understanding, data governance, Snowflake migration, and infrastructure improvements
  • Build and maintain reproducible analytics workflows using R, GitHub, R Markdown, flex dashboard, and other tools to support scalable reporting, dashboards, analysis, and automation
  • Lead recurring People reporting cadences, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, key risk indicators, and other leader-facing workforce reports, with clear summaries of key findings, trends, and risks
  • Develop and maintain dashboards that help leaders and partners explore workforce trends, understand key metrics, and identify areas for action
  • Build and maintain scalable data products, reporting packages, and analytics tools, such as talent profiles, organizational span reports, workforce trend packages, and other resources that support major People and business processes
  • Apply data visualization and user-centered design principles to ensure dashboards, reports, and analytics products are clear, intuitive, and appropriate for varied business audiences
  • Fulfill ad hoc People metrics and research requests for People and non-People audiences, ensuring outputs are accurate, clearly communicated, and appropriate for the business question
  • Conduct deeper analytic projects related to attrition, engagement, mobility, workforce structure, selection, assessment, and other People priorities
  • Translate complex data, metrics, and analyses into clear, concise insights and recommendations for leaders and stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise
  • Partner with People Business Partners, Compensation, IT, and other cross-functional teams to clarify stakeholder needs, troubleshoot data issues, improve processes, and develop scalable solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members on data structure, R, GitHub, reporting automation, dashboards, and reproducible analytics practices
  • Ensure People data are used ethically, responsibly, and in alignment with privacy, governance, and business expectations
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, automation, documentation, and the overall user experience of People analytics products
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • At least five (5) years of experience in people analytics, workforce analytics, data analytics, business intelligence, HR reporting, data engineering, or a related field
  • Advanced experience using R for data cleaning, analysis, reporting, automation, and/or dashboard development
  • Experience using GitHub or similar version control tools to manage code, collaborate, and maintain reproducible workflows
  • Experience working with Snowflake, SQL, or similar database environments
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, or data visualization products using Tableau, R Markdown, flex dashboard, or similar tools
  • Demonstrated ability, through a work sample, to clean, join, validate, document, analyze, and communicate insights from complex data using clear reports, dashboards, or data visualizations
  • High level of organization, accuracy, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and complex data in simple language
  • Ability to manage multiple recurring deliverables, ad hoc requests, and longer-term projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with partners in People, Compensation, IT, and business leadership roles
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Seven (7) years of experience in people analytics, workforce analytics, data analytics, business intelligence, HR reporting, data engineering, or a related field
  • Expert-level experience using R for reproducible analytics, automated reporting, and dashboard development
  • Advanced SQL experience and/or experience designing data models for analytics and reporting
  • Experience developing R Markdown, Quarto, flexdashboard, Shiny, or similar reporting products
  • Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking, learning, engagement survey, compensation, or other People systems
  • Experience partnering with IT or data governance teams to improve data access, documentation, quality, and infrastructure
  • Experience with People analytics, employee listening, selection and assessment, attrition research, organizational design, or workforce risk metrics
  • Strong consulting skills, including the ability to clarify stakeholder needs, frame analytic questions, and guide leaders toward meaningful action

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $114,000.00 and $170,000.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
