Manager, Payroll Projects and Transformation 

 

Position Summary:

The Manager Payroll Projects and Transformation will lead and oversee all aspects of payroll projects and implementations impacting Payroll and time tracking operations, ensuring the effective management and scalability for the payroll function. This manager is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of payroll systems and regulations, and the ability to seamlessly project manage multiple initiatives at one time.  This manager also must have the ability to lead a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize the use of payroll systems to ensure efficient and accurate payroll processing
  • Lead, mentor, and scale the payroll project team to meet the needs of the organization
  • Manage a team of offshore resources who are working on payroll related technology projects
  • Collaborate with People, Finance, IT and operational workgroups to streamline payroll processes and enhance system integrations
  • Serve as payroll subject matter expert on cross functional project teams
  • Provide project management support of initiatives including project planning, tracking of key deliverables and providing regular status reports to leadership  
  • Develop requirements documentation and execute end-to-end system testing plans. 
  • Build strong cross functional relationships to support company objectives
  • Stay current with payroll regulations, trends, and best practices to ensure compliance and operational excellence
  • Ensure payroll related systems are maintained at all times with proper internal controls
  • Develop and implement dashboards and tracking tools to track KPI’s
  • Conduct post implementation support of new systems and initiatives 
  • Other reporting and data requests as requested 
  • Other duties as assigned


Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • Five (5) years of payroll experience
  • Able to work flexible hours and be available on short notice
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong change management and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Available for overnight travel (up to 10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three (3) management experience
  • Experience with SAP Payroll
  • Proficiency with Snowflake or related technologies
  • Certified Professional Payroll Certification (CPP)
  • Automatic Data Processing (ADP) tax provider experience
  • Previous airline industry experience

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) and Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls 
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $81,000.00 and $136,200.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
