Position Summary
The Manager, OS Platform Services and Data Center is responsible for leading the enterprise compute and operating system platform services that underpin critical applications. This role manages lifecycle planning, capacity management, disaster recovery/business continuity (DR/BC), database infrastructure partnership, and systems patching.
The Manager balances modernization initiatives (cloud-ready platforms, storage virtualization, software-defined storage) with operational excellence, recovery readiness, and strong vulnerability management practices. This leader works cross-functionally to ensure secure, compliant, and highly available infrastructure platforms across hybrid environments.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain enterprise Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) services, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting, leveraging tools such as Infoblox to ensure high availability, accurate IP address management (IPAM), secure zone administration, and reliable name resolution across the organization.
- Lead data center optimization initiatives, including cage consolidation and footprint reduction efforts, to improve space utilization, lower operational costs, enhance power and cooling efficiency, and align infrastructure capacity with evolving business requirements.
- Implement and oversee disaster recovery and business continuity (DR/BC) programs, including runbooks, regular DR testing, and cross-site replication strategies.
- Partner with Database Management team on enterprise storage and backup architecture: SAN/NAS (NetApp/Isilon), block and object storage strategy, replication, snapshotting, and backup/restore operations.
- Establish and govern lifecycle and patch management strategy, ensuring measurable compliance, reduced risk exposure, and minimal operational disruption.
- Design and operate automated patching pipelines aligned with vulnerability management, change control, and maintenance window requirements.
- Partner closely with Cybersecurity to remediate vulnerabilities, support audit and regulatory requirements, and align infrastructure platforms with security standards and policies.
- Lead server vulnerability engineering practices, including vulnerability assessment coordination, remediation prioritization, secure configuration enforcement, and continuous hardening of Linux and Windows server platforms.
- Coordinate patching, remediation, and exception management in support of regulatory obligations (e.g., TSA, FAA, SOX, PCI, internal audit findings).
- Lead Windows and Linux engineering teams, including base Operating System (OS) hardening, configuration standards, lifecycle management, and secure baseline enforcement.
- Implement standardization through golden images, configuration as code, and automated testing of infrastructure and platform changes.
- Manage relationships with managed service providers, including contract oversight, service level agreements (SLA) adherence, and operational performance management.
- Support budget planning, monitoring, and forecasting to ensure financial targets are met, and resources are allocated effectively.
- Mentor and develop engineers across virtualization, storage, operating systems, and patching disciplines.
- Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement

Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
- Five (5) years of systems/infrastructure experience, including three (3) years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Hands-on expertise with VMware/Hyper-V, NetApp, Isilon storage, backup tools (such as Veeam/Rubrik).
- Strong Linux and Windows server administration experience.
- Experience with disaster recovery planning and enterprise hardware lifecycle programs.
- Experience leading vulnerability remediation and patch management programs in regulated environments.
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test

Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Seven (7) years of systems/infrastructure experience
- Experience with cloud migration patterns (lift-and-shift, replatform), software-defined storage (Ceph), and modern backup-to-cloud strategies.
- Strong Linux engineering background in enterprise environments.
- Experience in server vulnerability engineering, including vulnerability scanning platforms, remediation orchestration, and secure configuration management.
- Familiarity with CIS benchmarks, STIG compliance, and infrastructure hardening standards.
- Database platform administration familiarity and certification.

- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Compensation
- The base pay range for this position is between $118,800.00 and $177,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
