Position Summary

The Duty Manager, Maintenance Control reports directly to the Senior Manager Maintenance Operations Center. The Manager serves as authority when making operational decisions and provides consistent communication and coordination with System Operations Control (SOC), Line Maintenance and Heavy Maintenance personnel and leadership, Engineering, Inspection and Materials to maintain a seamless daily operation while maintaining the highest degree of safety.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Continually design/implement action plans to reduce maintenance related delays and cancellations.
  • Effectively monitor and manage the Minimum Equipment List/Configuration Deviation List/Non-Essential Funishing’s process for accuracy.
  • Maintain department goals, performance objectives and training (including recurrent training) of all Maintenance Control personnel.
  • Responsible for compliance of documented events such as robbed parts, Mechanical Reliability Reports, and Maintenance Irregularity Reports.
  • Provides technical support to Maintenance Controllers and Pilots.
  • Maintains constant surveillance of overall aircraft maintenance activity.
  • Create/administer/manage the department’s work schedules including managing/approving vacations, monitoring sick time and absences, ensures adequate staffing to meet operational needs.
  • Supervises Maintenance Controllers.
  • Complete all other duties assigned by the Senior Manager, Maintenance Operations Center (MOC) or higher in a timely manner.
  • Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement.   
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certificated Mechanic possessing Airframe and Powerplant ratings
  • Five (5) years of combined Line Maintenance / Heavy Maintenance experience
  • Three (3) years of Maintenance Control experience or three (3) years in a supervisory/management role in Technical Operations
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and administer/delegate responsibilities
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience operating in fast paced, high-pressure environments
  • Computer literate in Microsoft office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical abilities,
  • Knowledge of A320/E190/A220 platforms
  • Excellent people skills
  • Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Radio License

 

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Compensation: 

  • The base pay range for this position is between $111,400.00 and $156,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
