Position Summary
The Manager JetBlue Creative Studio is a key creative voice for JetBlue’s brand, overseeing the strategic direction of the brand voice and design to ensure it aligns with JetBlue’s brand positioning, and is distinct, clear and consistent. They collaborate with the Marketing team and matrix partners on the ongoing development of the brand, serving as a brand ambassador and championing creative excellence.
The Manager leads the Creative Studio team, inclusive of in-house and freelance designers, copywriters and project managers, to execute consistent and innovative design and voice across customer touchpoints. They support the team from ideation to execution, ensuring excellent communication with all stakeholders and the upholding of the JetBlue brand standards. The Manager also collaborates with agency partners to influence JetBlue’s creative work across paid and earned channels so the customer sees a seamless view of the brand.
The Manager is responsible for the execution of JetBlue brand and marketing communications projects across channels including web, mobile app, email, signage, print collateral, liveries, and beyond. They also partner closely with other teams including Product, Corporate Communications, IT, Sales and JetBlue Travel Products to ensure the brand is consistent across all channels.
This leader is passionate about designing experiences that enhance a customer’s perception of the JetBlue brand and enjoys working on a variety of high profile, innovative assignments. They will be detail-oriented, a skilled influencer, and an effective leader whose personal values match JetBlue’s values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun.
Essential Responsibilities
• Partner with Brand, Marketing Communications, Promotions, Product, IT, Sales, Corporate Communications, JetBlue Travel Products and agency partners to set creative strategy
• Define and communicate brand design and voice guidelines internally and with outside partners to maintain JetBlue brand integrity across all platforms
• Champion creative innovation and excellence across the organization
• Lead the creative team of designers, copywriters and project managers to develop strategic creative ideas that will build the JetBlue brand
• Oversee all creative and copy execution across digital and physical channels, providing oversight and design input
• Work closely with project managers to strategically deploy resources and streamline workflows to ensure work is executed efficiently and on time
• Optimize briefing, feedback and approvals process to drive creative excellence
• Present brand creative strategy and concepts to leadership as appropriate
• Monitor creative performance metrics, leveraging insights to refine future creative
• Track evolving technology, industry and creative trends, and culture shifts to drive creative innovation
• Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support engagement, growth, and goal achievement
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic/Communication Design, Copywriting, Advertising, Marketing or a related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience.
• Five (5) years’ experience in graphic/communication design, environmental design, creative direction including copy and design, or related field in-house or at an agency
• Four (4) years of leadership experience in design-related environment
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels of JetBlue
• Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
• Available for moderate overnight travel (up to 30%)
• Able to work flexible hours and be available for an emergency response on short notice
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test
• Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
• Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
• Seven (7) years’ experience in graphic/communication design, environmental design, creative direction or related field
• Web design experience
• Experience designing for all media, including print and digital
• Demonstrates sound knowledge of all press publishing processes, concepts, and techniques
• Experience presenting design concepts and solutions to senior leadership and to internal and external stakeholders
• Experience influencing; selling ideas to others and using solid negotiation skills
• Demonstrates ability to work well with other crewmembers and represent the department favorably to internal and external stakeholders
• Understands components of a budget
• Understands JetBlue’s brand guidelines and culture

• When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

• Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

• Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
• Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
• Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
• The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Compensation:
• The base pay range for this position is between $81,000.00 and $136,200.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
