Title:  Manager Infrastructure Development

Position Summary

The Manager is responsible for providing design development and strategic support for key infrastructure development projects at JetBlue (including Terminal 6/7 at JFK). The Manager will be responsible for developing JetBlue’s design requirements and interfacing with architects and engineers to execute JetBlue’s requirements. During construction, the Manager will be responsible for representing JetBlue’s interests and reporting progress internally to teams across the firm and to JetBlue Senior Leadership. The Manager will develop and maintain an internal database of historic and planned operating and real estate metrics and layouts to inform and facilitate strategic decision-making.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design development and Strategic support for key infrastructure development projects
  • Establish relationships with and maintain open communications with the airport authority, developer, design-build contractor and internal Crewmembers, representing JetBlue at meetings affecting JetBlue’s operational, design and financial interests
  • Lead internal design development efforts to ensure terminal development aligns with JetBlue’s design, Customer experience and operations requirements 
  • Assist in negotiations of key commercial agreements such as the airport authority lease, concession agreements, construction agreements, term sheets, and airline tenant agreements
  • Oversee design and construction progress and provide regular reports to JetBlue leadership on project progress
  • Help drive a project’s efforts to engage with the Minority- and Women-Owned Business (MWBE) community and ensure that the project meets the airport authority’s MWBE goals
  • Create and maintain a centralized internal database of historical and planned operating and real estate metrics and layouts, by focus city, to facilitate and aid in future IPD strategy discussions (to include metrics such as costs, departures, gates, processor equipment, throughput, etc.)
  • Provide drafting (CAD) support to aid in planning and design of key infrastructure projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, architecture or related field
  • Five (5) project management experience
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with extensive Excel and PowerPoint experience
  • Excellent communications and people skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous consulting or real estate development responsibility
  • Two (2) years of airport management, construction, project management, real estate development or related experience

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
