Position Summary
The Manager, Inflight Technology is accountable for the product strategy, development, delivery, and lifecycle of technology solutions supporting Inflight operations. This individual serves as a key liaison between Technology and Inflight business stakeholders, aligning product capabilities with operational goals. The Manager leads a team of product-focused crewmembers and is responsible for managing partner relationships, ensuring operational excellence, and driving innovation that enhances the inflight experience for both customers and crewmembers.
The Manager is comfortable with maintaining a public profile and building relationships throughout the organization. The Manager is also able to change priorities and focus to meet business demands, excels when working on complex projects, is motivated to deliver results, and exhibits the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun.
Essential Responsibilities
- Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap to support inflight operations and customer/crewmember experience
- Prioritize and deliver iterative product improvements informed by data, user feedback, and strategic alignment
- Serve as the business relationship owner to align product delivery with operational goals and support key business functions
- Prioritize product backlogs and coordinate delivery to ensure features are built iteratively and deliver value quickly
- Drive customer-centricity by championing the voice of the end user (crewmembers and customers) through journey mapping, feedback loops, and usability testing
- Manage the lifecycle of inflight technology solutions, from planning through retirement, ensuring operational excellence and innovation
- Maintain oversight of production and non-production environments through structured release and change management processes, and serve as the escalation point for operational support of assigned applications
- Ensure compliance with all audits, security standards, regulatory requirements, and JetBlue policies
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of crewmembers focused on product delivery and operational support, fostering an agile mindset
- Collaborate across Technology teams to ensure alignment, drive efficiencies, and deliver seamless cross-functional product experiences
- Manage business partners and collaborate with strategic sourcing, negotiating contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) that meet stakeholder needs and performance expectations.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource plans aligned with portfolio and project priorities
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs) to measure product and service performance and mitigate risks related to compliance, technology, and operations
- Take a significant role in the development of crewmembers to support their engagement, growth, and goal achievement
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- Five (5) years’ experience in portfolio management, project delivery, and business partner management
- Two (2) years of supervisory/management experience
- Sound decision-making ability, analytical reasoning, and organizational skills with the ability to successfully multi-task
- Ability to tailor communication style to different audiences, and to exercise good judgment in frequency and nature of communications to different parties (senior leadership, stakeholders, team members, etc.)
- Strong teamwork skills
- Self-motivated and the ability to work with little supervision
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to rapidly resolve issues and recognize when escalation is necessary
- Excellent problem-solving and structured thinking skills
- Knowledge of Project Management (PMBOK) and strategic planning
- Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Visio)
- Available for moderate overnight travel (up to 20%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline
- Experience managing a budget and developing business cases
- Experience managing a full project or initiative, including presenting recommendations to senior leadership
- Thorough knowledge of business function and thorough knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies
- Exposure to JetBlue’s Technology disciplines and interdependencies and business units and how their needs drive Technology strategy
- Experience with product management, including backlog management and roadmap planning
- Familiarity with Agile or iterative delivery methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe)
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate user feedback and usability data into solution design
- Experience tracking and reporting on KPIs, OKRs, or other product performance metrics
- Experience negotiating with vendors and managing service level agreements
- Familiarity with inflight technology platforms or aviation industry systems
Crewmember Expectations:
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

- Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
- The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $118,800.00 and $177,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more
