Position Summary: 

The Manager is responsible for fostering cross-functional collaboration for a portfolio of projects within the CSS Modernization Program. They will be responsible for a set of dependent projects needed to achieve the goals of the CSS Modernization Program.  Additionally, they will work with existing project managers on project team definition, program & project timeline planning, resource and budget management, program level risks, issues and decisions, and program level reporting & communications.  

 

The Manager is comfortable with maintaining a public profile and building relationships throughout the organization. The Manager is also able to change priorities and focus to meet business demands, excels when working on complex projects, is motivated to deliver results and exhibits the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun. 

 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Daily program management throughout the CSS Modernization Program duration by working closely with the CSS director and general manager, cross-functional stakeholders, and assigned project managers and business analysts to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, budget and timing for initiatives that fall under the scope of the CSS Modernization Program. 

  • Defines program governance for dependent projects. 

  • Identifies key requirements needed from cross-functional stakeholder teams and external business partners. 

  • Accountable for delivering against established goals/objectives at the program level. 

  • Provides direct or indirect oversight of delivery teams for applicable program initiatives. 

  • Plans the overall program and monitors the progress by managing risks and issues, taking necessary corrective measures and coordinating the projects and their interdependencies. 

  • Creates and manages stakeholder communication plan for the program and the dependent projects. 

  • Creates and supports implementation of a change management plan related to the program and dependent projects. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/ General Education Diploma (GED) and five (5) years of continuous project management or manager level experience with airline technology, CSS/PSS host or related airline products (revenue management, schedule planning, customer support, airports, etc.) 

  • Five (5) years of experience managing projects 

  • Ability to translate technical knowledge into business terms and present operational information to executive leadership 

  • Awareness of and experience with industry standard project management and development methodologies 

  • Demonstrated leadership through project/team management 

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, Teams and Visio 

  • Experience managing a large scale enterprise budgets  

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and managerial skills including the ability to motivate others 

  • Ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision 

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels and in diverse environments 

  • Ability to identify and manage risk 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to tailor communication style to different audiences, and to exercise good judgment in frequency and nature of communications to different parties (senior management, stakeholders, team members, etc.) 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders and business partners simultaneously 

  • Available for occasional overnight travel (15%) 

  • In possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States 

  • Able pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test 

  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located 

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Proven track record in delivering large scale business transformation projects 

  • Experience Managing a full program or initiative, including presenting recommendations to senior leadership  

  • Thorough knowledge of airline business functions and thorough knowledge of airline business operations, objectives and strategies (i.e. IT, Revenue Management, Customer Support and Airports) 

  • Exposure to JetBlue’s IT disciplines and interdependencies and business units and how their needs drive IT strategy 

Crewmember Expectations:  

  • Regular attendance and punctuality 

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice 

  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance 

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
