Position Summary:

 

The Manager, IT Infrastructure Programs is the contact for all aspects of projects within the assigned portfolio. This includes resource and budget planning, project delivery, and matrix partner management. You will lead, coach, and develop a team of Crewmembers focused on project delivery. Additionally, the Manager is involved in operational support of all solutions and applications within scope of responsibility during execution and post go-live support period. To excel in this role, The Manager is comfortable with maintaining a public profile and building relationships throughout the organization. You will also be able to change priorities and focus to meet business demands, excels when working on complex projects, and exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of projects from discovery to closure, including transition to support teams. Assigned projects include, but are not limited to, IT Infrastructure projects
  • Take a meaningful role in leading and mentoring direct team and indirect Crewmembers to support the engagement and development of the Succession plan for the IT department
  • Own the relationship with business functional area leaders and delivery of IT solutions
  • Partner with senior leaders to deliver an annual budget plan including a monthly portfolio review applying an InTake process
  • Produce regular reporting on both a financial and resource capacity plan for designated responsibilities
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing to negotiate Business Partner contracts and service level agreements which aligns with the business unit’s requirements and expectations
  • Ensure that JetBlue IT and business standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with Company policies and all audit, security, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with all IT Managers to drive efficiencies and ensure alignment
  • Able to work flexible hours and be available for emergency response on short notice; on-call availability
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
  • Five (5) years’ experience in IT security, network, data center, and other applicable Infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge and ability to educate team members of Project Management (PMBOK) fundamentals
  • Sound decision making ability, analytical reasoning and organizational skills with the ability to successfully complete multiple projects simultaneously
  • Financial acumen and ability to structure a business case
  • Experience managing and maintaining a budget
  • Technology and systems knowledge (cursory knowledge of how Information Technology systems work from a business standpoint).
  • Ability to rapidly resolve issues and recognize when escalation is necessary
  • Available for overnight travel (10%)
  • In possession of a valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
  • Will report into the Long Island City Support Center (LSC) within 2 hours of notice when needed
  • Able to pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • PMP certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Five (5) years’ experience of portfolio/program management, project delivery, and business partner management with at least two (2) years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts; Microsoft technologies preferred
  • Capable of presenting recommendations to senior leadership
  • Strong vendor management, negotiation and resolution skills
  • Excellent customer service and an understanding of how IT is ultimately delivered to the Customer
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short –notice
  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System
  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR)
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
