Position Summary

The Maintenance Planning Scheduler forecasts and schedules Long Term Maintenance events to maintain Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulatory compliance and the integrity of the flight schedule for the JetBlue Line Maintenance environment. The Scheduler provides the Line Maintenance and Heavy Maintenance Planning teams a stable framework that will ensure no overfly activity of maintenance tasks and preparedness across Technical Operations for upcoming workload, while balancing the needs of the JetBlue organization. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Construct, assess, and maintain a Long Term Maintenance Schedule, working for optimal efficient maintenance workload assignments
  • Interface with Engineering, Materials, Line and Heavy Maintenance Planning and other JetBlue customers to prepare the Technical Operations department for upcoming and new workloads; provide Task Guide Sheet support, work grouping recommendations, set framework for aircraft footprint in flight schedule
  • Schedule, coordinate, and support engine chnages and modification worload in the Line Maintenance environment
  • Provide input and support maintenance of the Maintenance Allocation tally and engage in the Fleet Plan discussion to accurately report aircraft ground time needs and ensure appropriate use of secured allocation
  • Partner with Strategic Planning analysts to determine aircraft allocation needs for inclusion in Minimum Network Requirements
  • Support and provide input to Portfolio Management and Engineering Order (EO) Coordination meetings
  • Work with Long Term Planners to assign work to support plan as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Any combination of the following credentials amounting to at least three (3) years of overall work experience:
  • Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic with relevant work experience, preferably in a Part 121 Air Carrier environment
  • Aircraft Maintenance Planning experience, preferably in a Part 121 Air Carrier environment
  • Associate’s degree and relevant work experience in an aviation-related Engineering discipline
  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Aircraft Maintenance Programs/Maintenance Program Documents (AMPs/MPDs), Airworthy Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Maintenance or a related technical field
  • Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic Certificate
  • Five (5) years of experience in Aircraft Maintenance Planning in a Part 121 Air Carrier environment
  • Proficiency in TRAX and Sabre/FliteTrac Plot
  • Project Management experience particularly dealing with aircraft modifications, efficiency studies and cost deliverable projects
  • Results oriented with the demonstrated ability to balance diverse and dynamic operational requirements

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Compensation: 

  • The base pay range for this position is between $56,500.00 and $103,100.00  Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
