Position Title: Engineer Operations
Position Summary
The Engineer assists in the development and implementation of new technologies on JetBlue Airways aircrafts. The Engineer maintains and improves existing systems utilized by Operations Engineering for all fleet types.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains engine-out airport departure procedures in cooperation with Flight Operations
- Analyzes airport runway and obstacle data to determine impact on aircraft performance
- Works with governmental entities and business partners to maintain airport runway and obstacle database
- Identifies negative trends in aircraft performance and develops corrective actions
- Works with Technical Operations to determine weight and center-of-gravity impact of Engineering Changes
- Determines aircraft basic empty and operating weights and centers-of-gravity after aircraft have been weighed
- Maintains and uses aircraft weight and balance database
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- Three (3) years aviation industry experience
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Able to communicate technical issues in an assertive and tactful manner
- Project management skills
- Excellent multitasking skills
- Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) governing aircraft operations

- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
