Title:  Engineer IT Quality Assurance

Position Summary 


JetBlue Airways is looking for a highly motivated QA Engineer to ensure the integrity of our various applications. The Engineer will have a passion for Quality and site usability and own the quality of deliverables, end-to-end, working closely with multiple engineers and teams to execute on and complete a rigorous schedule of testing. Successful candidates are creative Engineers who take pride in the technical and business contribution of their work and are passionate about great systems and a great customer experience. The QA Engineer will work with the Development and DevOps teams alongside product stakeholders to ensure successful end-to-end, Integration, API tests and unit level tests. 


Essential Responsibilities 

  • Review user stories or requirements, designs, and other project documentation to assure quality of the products 

  • Verify that web functionality meets business needs and provides a great user experience 

  • Own end to end quality of features from test case writing to automation testing 

  • Develop automation tests using Webdriver.IO with JavaScript 

  • Contribute to our automation framework by building, improving upon it 

  • Develop API tests using Postman or RestAssured 

  • Review and report on daily test executions on our CI pipeline 

  • Work closely with product owners, developers and other test engineers in a fast-paced environment 

  • Other duties as assigned 


Minimum Experience and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous experience. 

  • Four (4) years of experience in Test Automation including planning, assessments, script development and maintenance 

  • Experience and understanding of REST APIs 

  • Strong knowledge of and hands on experience with JavaScript 

  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes 

  • Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases 

  • Experience with test case management tools 

  • Experience executing manual test steps 

  • Experience with design testing of web applications 

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process 

  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test 

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located 


Preferred Experience and Qualifications 

  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written 

  • Experience working with Content Management Systems 

  • Expertise in Selenium or another WebDriver protocol automation tool

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice 

  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance 

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
