Position Summary

The Engine Repairs Account Representative coordinates repair activities and monitors Business Partner commercial performance for repair of JetBlue Engines and APUs.  This position ensures Engines and APUs receive high quality repairs, establish Business Partner accountability, and supports the achievement of JetBlue’s CASM goals.  As part of Business Partner management, the Rep analyzes data, identifies performance and warranty issues, and implements corrective action plans with the Business Partner.  The Engine Repairs Account Representative executes special requirements to support high-cost engine shop repairs, manages repair flight hour agreements, and coordinates the purchase of high-dollar accessories and life-limited parts.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensures Engines and APUs are routed to Business Partners and repaired within agreed turnaround time 
  • Monitors stock levels and ensures low stock items required for Powerplant repair are prioritized
  • Coordinates parts/component movement to support engines in shop
  • Reviews Business Partner inventory to support audit compliance
  • Reviews and negotiates repair, modification, and overhaul cost quotes
  • Ensures compliance of the repair process with internal controls and the JetBlue General Maintenance Manual (GMM)
  • Communicates engine redeliveries and shares shop records to JetBlue stakeholders
  • Coordinates with Business Partners to correct Aircraft Records, Quality Control, and Powerplant Maintenance documentation issues
  • Coordinates loan and lease Engine and APU procurement with Engine Programs team
  • Supports JetBlue Engine Heavy MX Engineering to facilitate work scope creation
  • Responds to requests from JetBlue stakeholders regarding Powerplant repair issues, warranty claims, safety investigations, and Powerplant damage (FOD/DOD) events
  • Performs invoice review for all Powerplant repairs for accuracy and compliance with maintenance agreement terms, conditions, and pricing
  • Runs daily/weekly/monthly reports to support repair, invoice review, and payment processes
  • Liaises with Engine Programs and Business Partners to administer contracts
  • Supports the QA approval process to establish new Business partner maintenance facilities
  • Supports cost savings initiatives to reduce JetBlue CASM
  • Support all aspects of JetBlue Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP)
  • Ensure adherence to all aspects of JetBlue JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) and CAMP
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Two (2) years aviation related experience
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills
  • Available for occasional overnight (up to 20%)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based programs including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • In possession of valid travel document with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Aviation, Powerplant, Structures, Avionics, or Electronics
  • Two (2) years of experience in aircraft and engine parts procurement, or experience in other high volume repairs or purchasing environments   
  • Two (2) years of inventory management experience
  • Prior experience with coordination of aircraft materials, coordination of aircraft component repairs, coordination of business partner performance and/or warranty claims
  • Familiarity with Maintenance & Engineering database (such as TRAX)
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate and/or FCC license

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be availability to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))

  • The base pay range for this position is between $57,300 and $89,600 Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
