Position Title: Copywriter
Position Summary
The Copywriter is a pun-loving wordsmith that clearly and cleverly delivers JetBlue’s product and brand messages in the appropriate voice and tone for a wide range of marketing and communications projects, both internally and externally. Reports to Senior Copywriter.
Essential Responsibilities
- Create “on-brand” copy and develops creative copy solutions for a wide range of marketing projects, including but not limited to: headlines and taglines, handles and naming, website content, emails, collateral, promotional materials, social content, signage, merchandise, PA announcements and scripts, and presentations.
- Work with internal and external partners to ensure copy accurately and appropriately represents the JetBlue product and brand.
- Work closely with the Brand Design team to develop copy to complement a variety of internal and external design requests (signage, promotional materials, etc.)
- Proof-read and copy-edit written materials, primarily for Marketing but occasionally for other departments
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising, English, Creative Writing, Communications, Marketing or related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience
- One (1) year of copywriting experience in a marketing environment
- Portfolio or work samples that demonstrate necessary copy skills
- Completion of a copy test as part of the screening process
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Strong verbal and meticulous written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
- Pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Three (3) years of copywriting experience in a marketing environment
- Experience in a marketing &/or creative environment, preferably with experience in travel, hospitality, or consumer goods industries
Crewmember Expectations:
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
- Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))

Compensation
- The base pay range for this position is between $64,350.00 and $89,600.00. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more
