Position Summary
The Coordinator Workplace Compliance is responsible for assisting with the business partner oversight and program management of the Employment Eligibility Verification (I-9) process and coordinating all H-1B and visa processes with outside Immigration Counsel for all aspects of visas. The Coordinator will also support Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements, including state reporting, BlueCity labor law postings, and related tasks.
The Coordinator must be comfortable working independently and is an engaging professional whose personal values match JetBlue’s values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide overall administrative and project support to the People Compliance teams, specifically in filing and audit preparation
- Prepare annual EEO-1 and VETs-100 reports
- Audit I-9 forms and supporting documentation via a third-party on-line application for completeness and accuracy following federal requirements
- Assist Talent Acquisition (TA) with processing of new-hires and rehires to ensure employment eligibility
- Assist with training and onboarding of newly hired I-9 Processors
- Create and conduct I-9 audit cycles and propose process improvements to leadership accordingly
- Assist with daily I-9 requests from new hires and TA
- Assist with training and daily tasks of the Employment Eligibility Verification process by conducting audits and following up with crewmembers as necessary to stay compliant
- Assist with full cycle sponsorship process with outside Immigration Counsel and provide guidance to leadership
- Remain up to date on all Federal and State regulation changes and implement changes and training accordingly
- Attend new hire orientations to support Talent Acquisition
- Find opportunities to streamline business processes and recommend procedural changes
- Assist with auditing regulatory postings throughout JetBlue to make sure all stations and support centers are in compliance
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous related work experience
- One (1) year of business or Human Resources experience (e.g., I-9 experience and EEO related tasks)
- Knowledge of Immigration Laws and Policies
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to oversee confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy
- Ability to be flexible, multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and work well independently
- Detail oriented with the ability to think critically
- Effective written, verbal and presentation skills
- Available for occasional overnight travel (20%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR)
- Prior Employment Compliance experience
- Prior experience with employment verification audits
- Experience working with HRIS and Recruitment Management Systems (i.e. SAP/Success Factors)
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including SharePoint

- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
- The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $64,350.00 and $77,800.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more
