Position Summary:

JetBlue’s internal comms team is looking for a content-savvy Editorial Coordinator to help us engage, inform, and inspire our crewmembers. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on writing short, impactful posts—especially ones that pop with visuals. The ideal candidate is equal parts news junkie, digital storyteller, and curious collaborator, with a knack for identifying what matters most to our people and packaging it in a way that’s clear, relevant, and fun to read. You’ll help bring our internal communication channels to life including our mobile news app, our intranet, email newsletters, and more.

 

We’re not just looking for someone who waits for the story to come to them—we want a self-starter who thinks like a social media editor: quick on trends, smart about audience engagement, and always looking for the right image or headline to make a story sing. The Coordinator reports to the Manager Internal Content & Editor-in-Chief.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create, post, and update content daily across internal channels.
  • Compile and send JetBlue News, produced three days per week.
  • Regularly pitch story ideas and track internal and external news to keep content timely and relevant.
  • Write short-form content designed for fast, visual-first consumption—think headlines, image-driven posts, and short posts that can be read in a few minutes.
  • Maintain an editorial calendar to ensure a steady stream of compelling, original content for our channels.
  • Support corporate announcements and internal campaigns with clear, visually engaging messaging.
  • Interview crewmembers and leaders to uncover “the why” behind stories and present them in an accessible and engaging way.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to gather information on programs, events and initiatives, shaping it for a broad internal audience.
  • Proofread and fact-check to ensure accuracy and uphold JetBlue’s editorial standards.
  • Regularly monitor performance of the content you produce to develop an understanding of what works and what doesn’t work; share findings with Corporate Communications team to help the broader team continually refine its work.
  • Reflect our JetBlue brand voice and style in all communications.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing and/or other communications related fields; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years of previous relevant work experience.
  • One (1) year of demonstrated experience in communications, marketing and/or public relations.
  • Candidates must demonstrate written communication skills, creativity, and brand alignment in corporate writing through a work sample assessment.
  • Must possess strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities to be able to produce multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and manage self towards goals, while being a genuine team player.
  • Excellent troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
  • Strong research and communications skills and knowledge of industry news.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and online, with high professionalism.
  • Basic HTML and Photoshop skills.
  • Strong visual instinct with a knack for video, graphics, photography, and illustrations to boost the performance of content.
  • Close attention to detail and while delivering exceptional customer service with little supervision.
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%).
  • Currently in possession of a valid passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Aviation or travel industry work experience.
  • Two (2) years of professional corporate communications or agency experience.
  • Experience writing for editorial platforms including blogs, newsletters, mobile apps, or intranets.
  • Experience tracking and analyzing editorial content performance metrics.
  • Multilingual (English + Spanish or French proficiency a plus).

 

Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice—including occasional nights and weekends in response to breaking news or other issues. 
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance.
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft.
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun.
  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards.
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary, including JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS).
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $64,350.00 and $77,800.00. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
