Title: Associate Engineer Operations

Position Summary:
The Associate Engineer Operations assists in the design, development, implementation and use of systems and data to ensure safe, legal and efficient operations of JetBlue aircraft in the areas of aircraft performance, weight and balance, flight planning, route analysis and fuel performance. The Associate Engineer provides support to Flight Operations and System Operations as needed and reports to the Manager Operations Engineering.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops and implements systems for tracking aircraft weight and balance, monitoring aircraft performance, maintaining airport and aircraft data, and providing data to support flight planning and operations
- Develops special procedures for aircraft operations when required by unusual operational situations in cooperation with Flight Operations
- Performs route analysis including payload-range studies and airport suitability studies
- Investigates and determines root causes of operational events and failure
- Identifies negative trends in aircraft performance and develops corrective action
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
- One (1) year of engineering experience in the aviation or aerospace industry, preferably in aircraft performance and/or operations engineering
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong capabilities with database querying (e.g., SQL) and/or high-level programming language(s)
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
- Able to communicate technical issues in an assertive and tactful manner
- Project management skills
- Excellent multitasking skills
- Available for overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
- The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

Work Environment:
- Traditional office environment with occasional visits to the hangar and the terminal, which may present elevated noise levels and weather variations
- Irregular work shifts, on-call, and multiple work locations
Physical Effort:
- Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently (Light)
Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $71,300.00 and $86,800.00. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more
