Position Summary

The Workforce Systems Optimization Analyst, as part of the Operations Resource Planning team, will develop and execute workforce plans for Airports labor in compliance with JetBlue guidelines and directives.  The Analyst will optimize day-of and real-time systems and maintain workforce scheduling in addition to performing strategic analyses to drive efficiency and airline operability.  The Analyst will be instrumental in not only helping optimize the business from a micro and macro level, but assist in implementing tools and resources that will help streamline operations and allow for quick, effective decisions.  Projects are system-wide and may require travel to various cities throughout the network.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Generate and maintain headcount models and schedules for Airports front-line and supervisor workforces
  • Optimize and administer real-time workforce system for selected large cities
  • Support select large cities by delivering real-time, data-driven problem-solving solutions as issues arise
  • Perform ad-hoc studies using data-based analyses
  • Proactively identify areas of risk and opportunity with respect to workforce utilization
  • Develop robust workforce reporting and auditing systems
  • Support goal development for operational business units
  • Build and fosters relationships with internal and external customers including conducting regular meetings and training events
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant experience
  • One (1) year of experience in analytical or airline operations role
  • Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Excel through a work sample during the hiring process
  • Distinctive problem solving and analytical skills combined with business judgment and the ability to communicate with senior leadership
  • Self-starter who is eager to participate and contribute in teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (up to 5%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience with real-time optimization systems including Inform
  • Three (3) years of analytical or related experience
  • Proficiency with headcount planning techniques and strategies
  • Capabilities with a programming language, such as Python, Java, SQL, etc.
  • Capabilities with business intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Spotfire, etc.

  • Regular attendance and punctuality     
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers  are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

 

Equipment:

  • Computer and other office equipment
  • Occasional trips to the airport may require special equipment – ear plugs, safety vests, and steel-toed boots

 

Work Environment:

  • Traditional office environment.
  • Present during core business hours with extended hours when operationally necessary.

 

Physical Effort:  

  • Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)

 

Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is between $64,350.00 and $89,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
