Position Summary

The Analyst, Onboard Experience Compliance is responsible for ensuring quality control in JetBlue’s onboard fresh food programs including Mint and EatUp Café. The Analyst will review menu specifications and observe monthly menu presentations to produce a thorough understanding of all fresh food items served onboard. The role involves frequent travel, working with and oversight of Catering Business Partners to ensure that JetBlue menu items are produced in accordance to JetBlue’s high standards and specifications. The Analyst will conduct HACCP audits and provide training in the catering kitchens while generating reports on kitchen performance. A strong understanding of culinary terms and techniques, food safety, regulatory affairs, and quality assurance is required. 

The Analyst will support the Manager, OBE Planning & Analysis with strategy, design and analytical recommendations to facilitate improvements for all onboard experience programs, including but not limited to menu updates, product offering, sourcing, Inflight service flow and food safety. The ideal candidate has a passion for food & beverage, food safety, cooking and most importantly travel.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly menu changeover presentations and bi-weekly Chef’s tables to verify food  quality and execution in accordance with JetBlue and Restaurant partner specifications 
  • Conduct routine, performance and risk based quality control visits to ensure Catering Business Partners are meeting all JetBlue and Restaurant Partner specifications   
  • Creates, maintains and communicates data from audits and quality control visits to all relevant business partners and internal stakeholders 
  • Prepare and compile frequent station specific food quality reports to review with Corporate Representatives, Catering Business Partners, Chefs, Cooks and Assemblers. Provides monthly, quarterly and annual reporting as required   
  • Monitors and provide corrective action to key performance indicator (KPI) metrics for assigned region. Including but not limited to, daily Inflight Crew comments and Customer feedback  
  • Provide support and culinary expertise to the Catering operations team and Catering Business Partners for day to day operations and development of internal guide documents 
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders in catering locations to provide training, coaching and on-site corrective action to uphold JetBlue’s high food quality standards 
  • Review and understand recipes, methods, ingredients, yields and pricing 
  • Maintains, reviews and revises all internal food safety policies, manuals and processes in accordance with JetBlue, local, federal and industry regulations  
  • Ownership and/or assistance of creating Inflight crew guides, menu grids, boarding ratios and other relevant documents as required. This requires to work cross functionally with a diverse group of stakeholders, including Inflight, Safety and Catering. 
  • Provides input into implementation of new menu cycles by conducting quality control kitchen visits at assigned locations, including meeting inbound and outbound flights to gather flight attendant feedback and conducting quality assurance test flights  
  • Assists with validating menu pricing, maintaining food and menu inventories at assigned locations 
  • Represent a commitment to service excellence  
  • Other duties as assigned 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in hospitality, food and beverage management, auditing or a related discipline, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree; OR a demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years of relevant work experience 
  • One (1) year of experience in quality assurance, internal audit/evaluation programs, food and beverage operations, vendor management, or related area 
  • Must be able to taste a wide variety of foods including meat, chicken, fish, vegetables, grains, etc. 
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills 
  • Strong track record of working successfully in both a team environment and independently with minimal supervision  
  • Ability to effectively communicate to diverse stakeholders, business partners and leaders of varying levels   
  • Proficient with auditing, project management software and Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.  
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing information quickly  
  • Ability to develop and present ad hoc reports as requested  
  • Ability and willingness for overnight travel of (75%)  
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays based on business need  
  • In possession of valid travel documents and the ability to travel in and out of the United States  
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test a  
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located  
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship  

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Airline catering and/or food and beverage experience
  • Culinary and/or food safety background 
  • One (1) year project management experience

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation  

  • The base pay range for this position is between $58,500.00 and $89,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
