Position Title: Analyst, Fuel Market Analysis and Projects

Position Summary:

The Analyst, Fuel Market Analysis and Projects plays a key role in supporting JetBlue’s fuel strategy and financial performance. This position partners across Finance and operational teams to forecast and manage fuel expense, leveraging external market intelligence and industry research. In addition, the Analyst serves as a business and data analyst, supporting and executing digital transformation and analytics initiatives that enhance fuel-related decision-making, reporting, and process efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own and deliver a weekly fuel expense forecast by analyzing key market and operational drivers including Brent, jet crack/crack spreads, fees, taxes, and fuel consumption, and communicate insights and variances to senior leadership
  • Develop and deliver executive-ready materials and analyses for Board meetings, earnings calls, and recurring leadership reviews, translating fuel market conditions, geopolitical dynamics, and forecast impacts into clear, decision-relevant insights
  • Maintain, consolidate, and analyze fuel-related datasets (primarily in Excel) to support accurate forecasting, invoice reconciliation, annual fuel procurement bid analysis, and ad hoc business initiatives Serve as a key point of contact for external business partners, supporting invoice dispute resolution, contributing to annual price negotiations, and resolving day-to-day fuel-related issues in coordination with internal teams
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, supporting system and process enhancements, submitting change management requests, updating procedures and manuals, and developing standard work and documentation
  • Partner cross-functionally with Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, Investor Relations, IT, Dispatch, and other operational teams to deliver fuel-related analysis, reporting, and insights that support operational and financial decision-making
  • Apply a continuous improvement mindset to all responsibilities, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance data quality, process efficiency, controls, and decision support
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • One (1) year analytical (or related) experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated analytical and presentation skills
  • Candidates must demonstrate Excel skills in a work sample assessment. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication including ability to interact with executive leadership
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship  

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • One (1) year professional experience in finance, oil and gas, or related field
  • Experience analyzing large datasets in Excel
  • Experience automating manual processes
  • Experience working on technology related projects
  • Working knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), including Snowflake
  • Knowledge of or experience in aviation or oil and gas

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $50,000 and $89,600 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include performance bonuses, restricted stock units, as well as access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
