Position Title: Analyst Financial Planning and Analysis 

 

Position Summary:

The Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst assists the Manager Financial Planning & Analysis in understanding cost components and developing presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors. The Analyst Participates in monthly, quarterly and annual variance reviews and in long term financial management, strategic initiatives and competitive analysis.  The Analyst also assists with various ad hoc analyses as necessary.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assist manager, Financial Planning and Analysis with forecasting, budgeting, and oversight of costs
  • Collaborate with accounting and business units to ensure forecast is accurately aligned to actuals
  • Contribute to monthly, quarterly and annual presentations for Senior Departmental leaders
  • Assists with executive and Board level presentations and communications
  • Recognizes, analyzes and models various trends within the business and airline industry
  • Collaborate with Managers and above to provide strategic guidance and sound business decision support to cost center leaders through proper financial analysis, collaboration and critical thinking
  • Understand impact of investment decisions on departmental and company-wide financials
  • Update and improve current financial models and databases, including short and long-term forecasts
  • Work alongside and communicate effectively with different groups and organizational levels across JetBlue
  • Prepares ad hoc reporting and analyses as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant experience
  • One (1) year finance and/or analytical experience
  • Experience with or basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of financial analysis and interpretation through an onsite work sample
  • Extensive experience with Excel and PowerPoint. Proficient with Word and other Microsoft Office Products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test 
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorized to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master’s of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience using Tableau or similar data visualization tool 
  • Advanced forecasting and modeling capabilities

     Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Compensation: 

  • The base pay range for this position is between $50,000 and $89,600 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
