Position Summary

The Analyst, Charter Planning is involved in the spectrum of activities related to charter operations, supporting commercial and matrixed stakeholders. The Analyst ensures all required preparation, documents and checklists are completed on schedule. The Analyst coordinates with external partners, such as charter brokers and airport operators, as well as numerous departments within the JetBlue organization (including but not limited to: System Operations, Airports, Network Planning, Schedule Planning, Revenue Management, and Finance) to contract, plan and execute charter flights. In addition, the Analyst will monitor operational performance and customer satisfaction.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Monitor charters business unit performance through various key performance metrics, including charter flight record keeping, reporting, and analysis to include operational and financial data.
  • Work with commercial stakeholders and analyze historical performance to identify opportunities to grow revenue and market share.
  • Assist in the development of the marketing and sales plans, build working relationships with Charter brokers and customers, and capture new business through sales lead follow up.
  • Maintain existing contracts and the contract renewal process. Ensure contracts are negotiated in a timely manner and own customer relationship management (CRM) throughout the charters lifecycle.
  • Partner with operational counterparts and business partners to develop a plan for charter operations. Research and coordinate offline destinations with stakeholders, as needed. Support data gathering and coordination for charter flights to non-C070 airports, assisting in feasibility analysis, compliance, and documentation.
  • Ensure charter trip package(s) are accurate and complete. Oversee logistics for each charter flight including ground handling, catering, crews, and maintenance support.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training programs in coordination with JetBlue University (JBU) for the On Board Charter Representatives.
  • Maintain and update charter manuals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience
  • One (1) year of experience with airline or commercial flight operations
  • One (1) year of experience in a professional office environment
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical abilities
  • Organized, detail oriented and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong problem identification and solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow complex instructions
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • One (1) year of experience in Airline Charters
  • Experience with CRM processes and/or tools

 

Crewmember Expectations: 

  • General knowledge of customer service and flight logistics
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality in regards to potential and existing charter customers
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))

Compensation: 

  • The base pay range for this position is between $64,350.00 and $89,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more
