Position Summary:

The Supervisor Quality Control monitors, schedules and delegates inspections on JetBlue Airways’ aircrafts, engines and components as required by routine and non-routine work cards and required inspection items. The Supervisor also monitors schedules and delegates with the receiving inspectors and the Heavy Maintenance Quality Reps.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Delegates, assists and follows up on all assigned inspections
  • Supervises borescopes of all JetBlue engines on and off the wing
  • Supervises Aircraft part and tool receiving inspection process
  • Supports schedule and supervises Heavy Maintenance Quality Control Reps at 3rd party maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) providers throughout the country and overseas
  • Performs on the job training to develop the Quality Control Department
  • Develops and monitors the Quality team schedule for manpower and overtime requirements
  • Schedules inspections and manpower to cover out of station Quality control work and out of service aircraft recovery
  • Monitors Quality Control and Maintenance for correct compliance of work scope
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Three (3) years of inspection experience on commercial aircraft
  • Three (3) years of commercial aircraft maintenance or quality management experience
  • Able to understand aircraft structural repair manual (SRM) for damage mapping
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards
  • Able to travel to out stations or non- maintenance cities when called to do so
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in the field of Aviation and Management
  • Engine borescope experience
  • Certified Level 1 or Level 2 in Non-Destructive testing (NDT) in Eddy Current, Fluorescent Penetrant and Ultrasonic Inspection
  • Five (5) years inspection experience on commercial aircraft; Airbus experience preferred
  • Five (5) years of Lead or Supervisor experience in commercial aviation
  • Proficient in engine borescope
  • Proficient in detailed aircraft damage mapping and SRM usage

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

  • Olympus and GE borescope equipment
  • Various Precision Measurement Equipment
  • Non-Destructive Testing Equipment
  • Aircraft test equipment
  • Lift trucks, snorkel lift, boom lift, ladders and tractor
  • Reflective safety vest, eye and ear protection

Work Environment:

  • Outdoors on aircraft ramp side and /or the hangar
  • Travel to support MRO’s and outstation monitoring as assigned
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and/or days off as required
  • Flexible schedule required

Physical Effort:

  • Position requires strenuous physical work. Heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently. (Heavy)

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position starts at $119,700.00  per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
