Position Summary

The Supervisor Quality Assurance reports to the Manager, Quality Assurance/CAAS and has responsibility for the direct operations of the External Audit program. The Supervisor schedules, delegates and implements the JetBlue Airways Audit Program as outlined in JetBlue’s Continuing Analysis Surveillance System (CASS) Program. The Supervisor is also responsible for the training of Auditors and approving Auditors at the successful completion of training.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervises all External Auditors in the performance of their duties and ensures External Auditors receive all applicable training as required
  • Ensures external audits are accomplished as stipulated by the Director Quality, Manager Quality Assurance/CASS and the JetBlue CAS System
  • Ensures allocated audits are accomplished on behalf of C.A.S.E. as required
  • Maintains a current external audit schedule
  • Keeping records and reports of audit results and a schedule of corrective actions due
  • Ensures audits/investigations are accomplished when requested by management in support of an event or in support of a CASS Review Board request
  • Supervise and update the audit schedule and performs audits including Station Ramp Audits and departmental audits and investigations
  • Evaluates and recommends approval/rejection of component Overhaul & Repair Agencies
  • Perform analysis of audit finding for trends within Technical Operations and JetBlue Station Operations
  • Perform evaluations of audit responses and provides compliance recommendations as required
  • Provide technical and compliance or regulatory assistance to other departments in support of day-to-day operation
  • Generate, approve and present the CASS Monthly report to Tech Ops Leadership
  • Produce monthly activity report for FAA Submission
  • Liaison to DoD / IOSA for gap analysis, Audit follow-up and ongoing compliance
  • Assist with review and maintenance Quality Assurance Software suites
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Five (5) years airline maintenance experience
  • One (1)  year airline supervision, lead experience, Quality Control
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent verbal, written, as well as strong analytical and time management skills
  • Ability to interpret manuals, technical data, and quality metrics
  • Familiarity with air operator certification and airworthiness
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (30%)
  • Currently in possession of a valid Passport with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
  • Must pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in aviation related field
  • Two (2) years airline supervision or lead experience
  • Ability to work in a team environment, under pressure, in a demanding and fast paced operation.
  • Building and managing relationships with Regulators and Business Partners, including ensuring conformance with contract terms.
  • Working in other maintenance-related functions including Engineering, Quality, Maintenance Planning, Materials and/or Safety
  • Previous Quality/Auditing experience
  • Accountable and results driven

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
  • Adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Upholding JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
