Position Summary

The Material Representative HMV and Mod Programs is responsible for the on-site material support of aircraft during heavy maintenance and modification visits. The Material Representative works along with JetBlue Programs, Engineering, Quality Assurance and Maintenance Technical Representative on any issues that occur during heavy maintenance service.  This position manages customer owned inventory, maintains inventory accuracy, works with logistics and material planning to strategically support future maintenance visits.  The position supports all heavy maintenance purchasing requisitions.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinate pre-induction review with Heavy Maintenance Planning, Material Planning and procurement team and the Maintenance/Repair/Overhaul (MRO) provider of required and additional maintenance tasks
  • Supports all heavy maintenance purchasing requisitions and performs RFQ’s to obtain best pricing and lead times.
  • Monitor and ensure the day to day execution of the contract by the MRO provider
  • Liaise with the MRO provider for all Material requirements for the heavy maintenance operations
  • Monitor and manage all materiel requirements in support of the heavy maintenance operations
  • Coordinates material purchases with authorized purchasing personnel as required
  • Manage the Receiving process for all material delivered for the heavy maintenance programs operations and storage at the MRO
  • Manages all Inventory transactions for parts issued to the aircraft during the heavy maintenance and modification operations
  • Ensures Inventory Compliance for all Customer owned stock at the MRO facility
  • Manages the repair cycle of designated removed components
  • Review and provide approval for the scrapping of any customer owned material
  • All other duties as assigned                                                                                    

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • Two (2) years’ experience working in an aircraft maintenance or materials environment 
  • Valid Receiving Inspection Certification or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of start date
  • Working knowledge of inventory management
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work well with others and complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Currently in possession of a valid passport or equivalent travel documents to travel freely in and out of all JetBlue destinations
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards
  • Must be available for consistent business travel (100%)
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in aviation, engineering, business, or related discipline
  • One (1) years purchasing experience
  • One (1) years financial analyst experience
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of airline maintenance programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong typing skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Flexibility and agility skills
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

     Crewmember Expectations:

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

     Equipment:

  • Computer and other office equipment

     Work Environment:

  • The normal working environment is on location at partner heavy maintenance facilities with possible travel required to component repair shops, the flight line, or the warehouse.
  • Monthly work schedule averages 16 days traveling and 12 days home.
  • The out of office working environment may present elevated noise levels and weather variations.

     Physical Effort:

  • Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.  (Light)

     Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $58,500 and $77,800. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
