Position Summary

The Inflight Operations Coordinator is responsible for working alongside with Airports to support relatability through OTP (on-time performance). The Inflight Operations Coordinator is responsible for tracking key milestones at our Focus Cities (BOS, EWR, FLL, JFK, LAX, MCO and SJU) and communicate with leadership to ensure Inflight crewmembers are supporting D0/T0 performance.

 

The Inflight Operations Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure operational environment maintaining the JetBlue brand by overseeing our hospitality standards and ensuring that the promises to our customers are fulfilled. Inflight Operations Coordinators report to Inflight General Manager or Inflight Ops Managers, supporting regular and irregular operations, and providing operational mentorship to Inflight crewmembers as necessary. 

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ability to oversee multiple tasks at once including multiple gate and crewmember oversight 
  • Owns the delivery of hospitality. Conducts hospitality briefings and observations
  • Provides technical/operational support to Inflight crewmembers and guides crewmembers in standard operating procedures
  • Coordinates and collaborates with peer group, as well as other operational groups, to ensure the operation is running effectively and according to plan
  • Understands and promotes all relevant operational metrics and policy updates
  • Communicates operational recaps and feedback to leadership through verbal or written means
  • Ensures timely completion and accuracy of paperwork, audits, and other administrative functions
  • Captures required key Inflight and Airports metrics in assigned turns
  • Provides input on operational improvements and efficiencies
  • Auditing paperwork and forms
  • Monitor multiple gates
  • Ability to become crew qualified and successfully complete 5 ½ weeks of training
  • Conduct Leadership Flying once per month.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
  • One (1) year of experience in Airport or Inflight Operations and satisfactory completion of Introductory Period
  • Good standing in Attendance, Performance and Safety
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Able to perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints
  • Able to work flexible shifts, travel and/or work variable hours including holidays and weekends
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Airport Security Identification Badge
  • Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Services and company required software and application
  • Proficient knowledge of crewmember policies, procedures, and procedures as outlined in the Flight Attendant Manual and in other supportive documents
  • Available for overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • One (1) year of Inflight experience
  • One (1) year of previous airline experience
  • Basic knowledge of Operations
  • Bilingual skills

 

Crewmember Expectations: 

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice, to include early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • Able to make occasional trips to other locations for training or temporary assignments
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
  • Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR)) 
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls 
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
  • The use of ChatGPT or any other automated tool during the interview process will disqualify a candidate from being considered for the position.

  • Airport environment
  • Subject to weather and elevated noise levels within airports
  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time

 

Physical Effort: 

  • Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to fifty (50) pounds frequently and/or seventy to one hundred (70-100) pounds occasionally with the assistance of other people or tools and be in a position where bending, crouching, kneeling, etc. is needed

 

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $20.00 and $30.00 per hour. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
